Just be careful @JohnK.Thanks again for all your help.
As an aside non pharmacological solutions are often just as good as pills and better in the long rum

Hop a plane back to Germany, pay for a months insurance, see doctor and get diagnosis, jump back on plane and back home for dinner.I've had some pain in an area I suppose most men could only relate to, for just over a day now. Mrs FB read some NHS advice and it says it it goes on longer than 24 hours to head to a GP. Problem is, GPs here are massively oversubscribed and I can't find an appointment for 6 weeks.
A&E? It feels like it'd be a low priority case and I'd likely be waiting for a long time.
Back in the UK tonight, just waiting at A&E now. 4 hour wait.Hop a plane back to Germany, pay for a months insurance, see doctor and get diagnosis, jump back on plane and back home for dinner.
Hope nothing serious @Flashback . Don't know what your pain is of-course, but I had epididmytis (sp?) some decades ago. Infection in a narrow tube (epididymis) that runs around the outside of the testes, the right one for me. Painful as. Cleared up with anti-biotics thankfully. Not something I'd want to wait 6 weeks to get seen.
EDIT: You're Australian. Change your destination to NL. No insurance needed. Just complete form A111 for reciprocal medical treatment.
Hope everything gets sorted quickly for you @FlashbackBack in the UK tonight, just waiting at A&E now. 4 hour wait.
Thanks. I'm sure it's nothing, but anything to get Mrs FB off my back.... plus I'm in quite a bit of pain. But it's all relative!Hope everything gets sorted quickly for you @Flashback
Better to be in medical care and prevent risk of bowel death. Wishing you a speedy recoveryFrigging hernia, again.
They think there is something else too, so I'm kept in the waiting room atm - 3-5 hours they said.Well you got your diagnosis
Take care with that one. I get pain in the groin area and down the inside of the left leg occasionally.Frigging hernia, again.

I ended up leaving, asked them if they could send the results to GP and they said yes - not that I can get an appointment in less than 6 weeks.... anyway, just as well, saw a fatal crime on the bus ride home.Take care with that one. I went to emergency last week thinking I had same issue but left after 2 hour wait. My case very minor and could have been a long wait.
No further issues since so fingers crossed.
When I had a non urgent problem after I had a fall I was staying with my sister in Devon. She told me Plymouth had a non urgent emergency service which opened at 0830. She said no one gets there until just before nine so I arrived just after 0830 and was the second in line. Getting past the clerk at the entrance was the longest part of the experience.I've had some pain in an area I suppose most men could only relate to, for just over a day now. I just had a missed call from the hospital, so not sure if that means anything. Have tried calling back but just ringing out. When I had a non urgent problem after I had a fall I was staying with my sister in Devon. Saw a nurse practitioner who was excellent. Had the X-ray I needed and could have left then but because I was a physician she wanted me seen by the Registrar.
So inquire whether one of those is close to you.
Maybe they rang to see where you wereI just had a missed call from the hospital, so not sure if that means anything. Have tried calling back but just ringing out.
Not a requirement to come in the front door for any reason - to visit a patient, to come in as a patient. Are hospital requiring a negative COVID test prior to procedures is anyone aware ?
That is very possible! If so, I'm glad I didn't wait around as that would have been one lonnnnnnnnnnng night.Maybe they rang to see where you were
(Hopefully nothing serious)
Hope it's nothing serious. Sounds like a rough day all round. I remember when I was living in the UK and had cause to visit A&E, it wasn't the most straight forward experience. I actually ended up leaving as well. All turned out OK in the end. That is very possible! If so, I'm glad I didn't wait around as that would have been one lonnnnnnnnnnng night.
