Gift Cards at Supermarkets

Quick question guys - been following the thread, been overseas and just got back home. I know tomorrow is the last day for the $88 gc (I checked my woolies and plenty there), I've got the dans offer on multiple amex's.....I wanted to ask/check, is there anyway to purchase discounted dan's cards w AMEX that will trigger the AMEX offer, thus double dipping? Or no dice?

That should work. Buy eGift from Dans and use to buy CNY card in WW

Dan murphy gift cards are just wish gift cards as well. You can buy $50 cards and use them at woolies to buy these.

Just tried to pay some bills at the local PO (which I'm on very good terms with the guy who runs it) and was told they received a memo to say "do not accept gift cards as a payment form for bills, period." He said they didn't give a reason and he thinks it's silly, but that was the directive.

Does the guy run it or own it? If he owned it, I don't see why he couldn't help you out if you are good mates...

Ideally I would like to buy a discounted Dans GC (i.e. through entertainment book etc), with AMEX so that it will trigger the $10 credit.

It is a shame when an exceptionally good offer opens the floodgates and scuppers a lesser but still lucrative points-earning strategy
However, arguing over loopholes or 'unfairness' never seems to get anywhere-time to adapt and find new opportunities

The PO has been being hammered for a long time due to all sorts of methods, most of which get shut down sooner or later.

Almost exactly 5 years ago one guy I know of was shut down after pumping through over $600K in GC purchases via the PO over about a year.

Yes, I did this. 20 times in fact.

Buy the $50 Dan's E gift card. Then take this to Woolworths use it to buy the $88 EFTPOS card. $88 EFTPOS card now obtained at a 20% discount :)

Used 7 x $88 GC to pay my insurance at RACQ today. Lady was a little confused but happy to do it :)

I paid for an MRI examination with CGMCs last year. Receptionist not too impressed but did it nonetheless

It will be interesting to see if the PO issue is going to be a problem. I was going to pay my home and contents insurance so that would have been a few cards. I will report back.

not too concerned either way, as there is plenty of other ways to spend these cards.

Where did you source them at 10% off?

Through a workplace incentive program

Bought 30 eftpos cards today with no issues from Woolies staff. There were as I said 100's of cards available in Cairns. I then went to the PO and paid the rates and water bill. No problems so now the electricity pity I can't do the body corporate same way.
Any ideas on paying Optus accounts?

The Coles deal for the next specials week (as mentioned previously) is one per household.

It says one per flybuys household. My interpretation of this is that for every separate flybuys account you can take this offer up once. This means that if every member of the household has a separate flybuys account, it can be taken up once by each member of the household.

That's how I interpret the T&Cs as well. You can only get one lot of bonus points per flybuys card so if you had many flybuys cards in the family, you could buy more gift cards. Seems good if you can use discounted Coles cards to purchase and get $10 back, albeit the VISA card has the $5.95 purchase fee. Might sneak a DJs card at 20% off then.
