Hi guys - doing some brainstorming again - just quickly, the prepaid visa/MC available at woolies, you can pay for these with eWISH GCs at self service?
(I know there is a fee with these etc.)

Just want to confirm if possible or not.
Cheers

Tried another had 15, Tried to buy them all, over jealous worker goes stop, you can not buy more than what you have scanned. (I scanned 3). STOP Call manager.... Manager came and said you can only buy 5. I said " Can I come back tomrow?" - "You can only buy 5 per transaction" - "Can I come back tomrow?" - "You can only buy 5" - "Can I come back tomrow". - "Yes, but only 5".

E-mail fine print says..... BONUS POINTS will be awarded for each Qualifying Card purchased during the offer period, a maximum of 10 Qualifying Cards per transaction (my bolding). To me, that means that you can buy as many as you can find (and your credit limit allows), except that you'd want to break them up into lots of 10 when paying for them.

You could try printing the e-mail and waving it at them, but it might be like waving a red flag at a bull.

You can buy as many as you like. However in the past the system would not process more than 5 in one transaction. (It had said 10 per transaction in previous offers as well).

Also in my experience if you want these cards act immediately. They usually disappear fast.

I didn't get the FB offer unfortunately and I usually only shop at wow, but will look into maximising these deals in the future, one quick question does the spend to purchase these cards count towards the status credits offered by FB?

Try it and let us know, dont be lazy to find out.

If know one here has an answer then I will give it a go.
I thought with the wealth of information from contributors on this forum someone would know.
Im suspecting it isn't possible... but would love to be proved wrong

My local Coles (Chisholm, ACT) had the grand total of one $100 card (which is now in my wallet). Plenty of $50 ones, but there's no value in those.

No $100 "Only 1" Visa cards either, for the catalogue starting tomorrow. And, get this, they still have Dick Smith gift cards!

I tried this a few months ago (wish card as load source) and they wouldn't let me. Can only load them at manned checkout not self service so no way around it :(

But they were ok with using eftpos GC to load them with - my card hadn't activated properly and I spent it elsewhere so can't report how I went with that one.

Without an Edge card I'm not sure it's worth the effort with. 1.5ppd Amex. Especially when I get 1.5 ppd, plus 5% discount with the competition.

Unfortunately, I've handed back my Edge to get Explorer. Going to use my Diners to generate SPG points (Edge points convert to 1.5 SPG just like Diners). I love flying at the front of the plane but you also need somewhere nice to stay when you get there :)

There are two types. Fixed value ones you can. Non-fixed value (reloadable) it's not possible. Even if you could do it at a self checkout, it sends a 'withdrawl' command to the card you use in the eftpos machine. It has to be a savings or debit card that allows cashout. Gift cards, perfect gcs only allow 'purchase' transacitons.

Ah right - so can't do at self service. Interesting.
I suspected you would not be able to with the wish GC. I did think however it would allow EFTPOS.

Crunching the numbers however, going from discounted wish card > eftpos perfect gc > visa prepaid card doesn't really stack up number wise (let alone effort).

Just trying to find an alternative to traditional mc/visa credit cards with there measly earn rate. Most of my bills can be paid by Amex (or pay Pal > Amex). But just a handful which I thought the above option might allow me to get around.

DC has the advantage of no credit limit too :)
I think I will be mixing it up

Sorry to clarify...the fixed value cards you can load with wish cards?

However the non-fixed value cards you cannot, however I would assume it would allow an eftpos card to load?

If you can load the fixed value visa prepaid with wish gc.....then that would be amazing and I think would stack up for me

Not a giftcard Eftpos though

Fixed value ones (only1 etc) go through self check out the same way the perfect GCs do :) no intervention if less than $500

Now just need to find some supply. All CBD stores I checked had none. Will check out local in the burbs on the weekend. Suspect they might be picked clean by then. Gotta be in it to win it.

Very good! Thanks for posting this. Very helpful.

Just quickly - can you do multiple fixed value visa cards (as long as you don't exceed $500) in one transaction???

I was hoping/thinking - purchasing a $500 wish card and then using it to purchase multiple fixed value Visa cards, that way makes it all fairly quick and easy.
