I just used my $50 One VISA card from the coles offer to pay a Council bill, no problems at post office. No fee too wtf. But didnt have option to enter pin. Weird.
I used a Woolies EFTPOS card yesterday and it was fine.

No fees you sure? They're meant to be $55 per card.

I think the fee will be added by council on your next statement.

hmm Previously I paid via Payapl with postbillpay and cc and no fee applied. I didnt notice any on the next bill.

Now as of this qtr when I do paypal paying with postbillpay there is a 0.4% fee applied before I go ahead. However if I do $1 payments the fee is $0.00 LOL

There are two types. Fixed value ones you can. Non-fixed value (reloadable) it's not possible. Even if you could do it at a self checkout, it sends a 'withdrawl' command to the card you use in the eftpos machine. It has to be a savings or debit card that allows cashout. Gift cards, perfect gcs only allow 'purchase' transacitons.

Hi exceladdict,

So went to my local woolies today, looked at the GC stand - couldn't see any fixed value prepaid visa or mc. Asked one of the staff - they said to ask the people at the smokes counter, they might be kept there. Not sure if they got confused with the non-fixed value? But either way - if not on the GC stand no way to purchase without staff intervention. I might have a look at another store, to see if it was just an anaomly at my local store.

However they did have the fixed value "only 1" Visa cards on the GC stand. Do you know if they can be purchased with wish gc's?

My plan is to buy a eWISH card and try at the self service to buy one with the wish card, if it doesn't work no major loss, left with a discounted wish card.

Just was wondering if you knew prior to me trying.

Doing self serve checkout at post office, can not split payments. Must do $88 at a time. Still have 50 cards to go.

Just used 6x $88 cards at council offices instead of PO. They were happy to accept split EFTPOS payment for rates and a parking fine.

Day 2 of the Coles $100 MC offer and I've managed to hoover up 72 cards. I'm waiting for the stores to "re-up" (just finished binge watching The Wire" :-) )

You're doing well. I'm only up to 25 so far :)

And, even when you do remember to scan the card, you get home and look at the receipt and it hasn't registered. Note to self, always look when scanning.

As in you cant use more than one card? Per bill?

No just that you have to go though the whole process for each card i.e scan barcode, confirm amount, request receipt, choose payment method, swipe, choose account, enter PIN

hmmm So you can go back to the coles and have your card registered to the receipt, you have 7 days to do this.

I seee.
That's great.
To save the 5% off bills that I normally don't get a discount is well worth it
