Gift Cards at Supermarkets

I get the impression that there was a typo and he meant buying a Myer card, then spending that on acquiring a M&CG card at the Myer store. Not sure whether that's possible, but it makes more sense since as you say, Woolies doesn't sell M&CG cards.

Thanks for the benefit of the doubt - I did think that WoW sold the same M&C G cards as I get at Coles.

Does make it somewhat harder if using WoW cards then BUT if you can get the discounted Coles cards then you can buy the M&CG cards at Coles to double dip on the Myer one Points for petrol as well as Myer One points for Myer purchases.

Even better if buying something from Myer for Duty Free (eg: iPhone, tablet etc) you get GST back on the 5% discount as well.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there's any easy way to convert woolies gift cards into CG&M gift cards, which is a shame as I do most of my grocery shopping at coles now but can't get discounted gift cards like i can with wish cards. But if anyone manages to crack the puzzle, feel free to share :D

LOL this is AFF, not OzBargain :-P

Pfft, who says...

I went to my local RACV today to buy Wish Cards and was told that they no longer sell them because RACV HQ wanted them to pay the eftpos//cc charges for the sales. As it turns out my local is an agency, and corporate stores still sell them. But the closest one is a 30 minute drive away! *sigh*

Do they not offer on-line purchase with free registered mail postage like RACQ does? Might be a good reason to move to Qld ;)

They do, but I am an RAA member living in Vic, so not an option for me. I do pass the corporate store from time to time; I will just have to be a bit more organised.

Just dropped in to Woolies to ask about the cards annnnnd it is not every gift card but just specific branded cards. Bugga. I was hoping I could get a Wish Card for Dan's purchases. :(

Can anyone confirm that the purchase of Visa Gift Cards/Prepaid Cards from Woolies/Coles actually post the 3pt/$?

I've previously bought a variety of gift cards and "Only1VISA" and Flight Centre Prepaid VISA cards. From memory the prepaid VISA cards had to be loaded with $150, but had a $6.95 load fee, so they cost $156.95. I bought them back when they weren't excluded from the $10 off your next shopping promotions.

Yeah i brought out multiple stores when the $10 off voucher came thru I even found the voucher worked unlimited by mistake ,but the fees kills the deal if youresearch more you will find much better deals out there with little fees and sometimes even making a nice profit !

I think if you check there is a free movie ticket currently with those gift cards which you can sell to soften the fees

asterix - where did you purchase the flight centre cards from?
I think that you will find that it's Coles. In the past I have checked about half a dozen of the stores in my local area and only one of them stocked the cards and that was the $150 card so don't expect to find them at all stores.

I've previously bought them from Coles at North Rocks, NSW and Coles at Epping, NSW. I've seen them at Target and Australia Post I think too, but no extra points there.

Had a win last night. Walked into JB Hi-Fi and bought a new Samsung LED for $1600, and asked the sales rep if they accepted multiple gift cards. Upon confirmation I went to the Coles in the same centre, bought 10 x $100 cards and 12 x $50 cards (they ran out of $100 cards!) and went back to JB to pay for the TV. The girl behind the counter had a laugh, especially at the docket which was 1.5m long! Saved on the outrageous 2.5% Amex surcharge by JB and scored a few bonus Amex points whilst I was at it.

I would have bought them at Woolies for the EDR points ;)
