Dr Ralph how many did you get last time for the $100 cards? I got none. :( Didnt see the value in it. :( Wish I did

Got around 50 from memory last time for the $100 cards.

Aiming for 100 this time.

Currently up to about 50.

Some stores have had none. But great buying at 20% off, especially as you can use these cards anywhere that EFTPOS is available.

Because 5 is the max per transaction for gift card, well $500.

No, 5 isn't the maximum for one transaction.

I did 12 through a normal checkout.

I believe that 5 is the maximum via self checkout though.

Ahh my mistake. I was referring to self checkout.

Did you use wish cards or straight amex?

How do you get 20% off (or is this using the 20% off dan murphies from amex)

Yes, washed all 20 through today. Time consuming, but worth it for 20% off.

Wish I'd had more Vpays as then they could have gotten me a 33% discount!

All have been wish cards purchased at between 10 and 20% discounts.

There doesn't seem to be a huge amount in the stores. I went in at opening this morning and the staff were just finishing off putting up the signs and filling the shelf.

Suggest you try other stores.

1 store I visited had 0. Another had at least 40 when I checked stock levels on Monday in anticipation of this event.

Agreed, there is no hard and fast rule on learning this stuff.

Spend the time reading, learning and working out what the best method is for you

jbman, I think that you'll find that most members on AFF are very tolerant. The problem arises when one member asks the same types of questions on multiple threads which could be very easily answered by sometimes just reading back 1 page and in some instances just one message. That same member has PM'd be a number of times and I've provided very detailed responses to their enquiries, but then they have asked the same questions again in the main forums. It's not unreasonable in those circumstances to encourage that person to take some time to do some homework, especially when it would likely take the same amount of time as posting a new question for that member.

For those in the Perth CBD, the WW SGT store had at least 150 $88 cards at opening this morning (at the entrance near the bakery).

I picked up 20 and another customer must of had 30 (a fellow AFF?). As I am only in it for the 3MR/$ on the Edge, I think 20 will be enough for me on this occasion.

A Coles MC gift cards for Easter promo could be just down the road so do not want to get too excited.

Bought some $88 cards today from Mona Vale. Plenty available on the stand. I must be a bit slow (and I have been following the thread for the last dozen pages or more) but how and where do you buy Wish cards with 20% off. Presumably you then use or attempt to use the card to buy new gift cards. Is that right?

There was a recent Amex statement credit for Dan Murphy's - spend $50 get $10 back.

Based on OzB posts and my own wanders today it appears like no Sydney CBD stores have the $88 cards. Happy to receive information to the contrary!

Agreed, I have always found everyone very helpful here.

Grabbed 10 $88 cards this morning, thinking about if I should go buy another 10...

What do you guys do with the small remainer on the cards after use. I find lots of places don't really allow/like split payments, except your major supermarkets/petrol stations.

I write on the back of the card how much is remaining. When I have a few of them I go to the supermarket and hold up the self-service aisle as I extract every last cent.

Same same.

Will be even more to keep track of given these new cards are only $88.

Hmm these 88 cards don't behave like normal Eftpos cards. Had the same issue with their $100 cards.

They don't work at a particular terminal - but this terminal does accept the westfields red and XS cards...weird
