I've been unable to get above 10,300 for the last 5 days  - sorry team (but I also note there are a couple of stragglers not putting in their steps).

Tomorrow I intend to break that drought - walk from the Valley to CBD lunch meeting and return should make up for it.

That's ok, our seemingly complacent team One Alliance is currently down 22 entries.

Com'n people, I want to see beyond "Angel Falls" where we've been mired this week!!!

Yep - sorry about that. Not only do I need to catch up on some step entry, but steps these last few days has been abysmal in number. No prizes for guessing how I feel about it. :(

Sorry guys... I have been a little slack in recording my steps. Up to date now and have passed the 1 Million!

Woot.

A much better day today, 16.5K as I head to bed. Tomorrow won't be as good but I'm playing golf on Sunday, so another good day there

Dream on!

I had one of my worst days yesterday and still was above your team average! :p

Past 2 days for me were a reasonably low count as those of you who have read the TOTT would know why :-|

I put my foot down (no pun intended) and had a fairly active weekend, making up a bit for my sins earlier in the week. Still quite a bit of slack to pick up - although Bridge to Brisbane is this weekend....

Some time ago, Jak Hancock from the GCC emailed me to enquire how we at AFF were going with the competition. I provided the reply following:
Hi Jak,

Thanks for your email.

We've been going well at Australian Frequent Flyer (AFF). Our two teams have been stepping it up consistently (although my team is being beaten by the other team) ;-). Some of the participants have been taking the competition with a good degree of seriousness and have clearly changed their movement patterns for the betterment of the competition (and their health).

The main challenges we've had is some step updates as we all travel quite a lot, including overseas. As a result, we sometimes find ourselves out of internet access (or reasonably priced internet!) and/or mobile data networks. However, most of us are able to keep on top of our recording duties and are doing well.

...

I think I can confidently say that almost all of us have enjoyed participating in the GCC this year, and I would hope we can do the same next year. Who knows...we may just field another team in the mix...

Jak provided a response back:
Thank you so much for your response, its great to hear that Australian Frequent Flyer really are picking up the GCC and running with it (or stepping with it!). The reason all of us here come to work each day is to motivate people to get up and moving, make themselves more healthier, and try to kick-start a healthier outlook on life, so to get emails like yours makes it all worth it!

We're getting to the tail end of the competition now...although that shouldn't be a reason to stop stepping seriously...

Happy to report that after my little visit to hospital, and plenty of rest I am now on the upward trend ; thanks to the painkillers I had a fantastic sleep last night. Am still a little sore today, but definitely feeling an improvement :)

Step counts should hopefully get closer to normal, tomorrow. I could go and hit it today, but think I should maybe rest instead.

Hmm, I can guess you were unwell..

As expected, my Sunday walking produced a new PB (26K) [between golf an walking with my daughter as she rode her bike], thrashing my old mark (21K). Still seemed strange to only do 13K yesterday (but I was tired) and today will probably be less again.

Yep, and starting to feel much better now. Thanks to those of you who called and sent messages

Have managed to get 10k yesterday, and another 10k today so definitely back on the up! Still had my afternoon snooze though

We are getting closer, OneAlliance. Can you hear our breath coming up behind you:lol:....

(we'd be closer if we had all of our steps entered - we have a 3, 7 and 14 day lag which doesn't help show our true averages).

Had a big day yesterday - ended up staying at home to write up a paper and proposal in relative peace and quiet. Then went out for a big walk and jog later.

End of day result: 24900 steps.

Not really; some of our member are playing around - we currently have lags of 2, 3, 3, 7 & 7 ...

Well, we are gaining on them and giving the percentage change, they might be looking backwards to see where we are

When I fly next week, due to the change in timezone there shouldn't be any dip in my level of steps recorded :p

Fly out in the afternoon, so can get a good 15,000 or so steps in during the morning hopefully. Arrive 6am the "next day" so then have the whole next day ahead of me! :D
