'Alright' seems to have become part of the language despite my primary school teacher's insistence it was only ever "all right" and nothing else. I don't like it and won't ever use it but I would guess that 'already' was "all ready" not that long ago so we have to swallow this one. I had an argument with my 18 year old nephew where he insisted 'alright' didn't mean the same as "all right".
 
I was walking past a shop in the Wynyard station access and saw a big TV screen with some cable news channel playing and writ large "TUMP SURGES AHEAD".

For heavens' sake. Channel 7 sports news a moment ago. Much vision of preparations for the Brownlow tomorrow night. That would be the medal named after Charles Brownlow. According to the presenter it's "who will take home the Charlie"........
