Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

In March 2013 I was able to book a JASA (U), CBR-MEL-HBA-SYD-CBR (flying in April 2013) for 48,000 + $125 per person via the online mASA booking system. While OATEK's JASA in U is now the appropriate cost in points it still seems to me to be expensive in $$$$ cost. I think that since these bookings have been taken offline the $$$ cost has been ramped up. My own experience has been CBR-SYD-OOL-SYD-CBR (JASA U) for 32000points + $304 (inc $7 CC fee).

But that could presumably have been 32,000 points + a higher co-payment.

I do remember JASA prices going up during 1H 2013 (or perhaps late in 2012), though.

You may be correct, but I thought at the time that 32,000 was the minimum points to OOL?

Yes, still is (return). Same to HBA. I may be missing your point, sorry.

Ahhh, that may be the key piece that I was missing. I thought that 48,000 was the minimum to HBA ret in J. So when going to HBA I must have increased the points to reduce the $$$. Which probably makes my original post irrelevant.

Actually I like the thrill of the hunt when booking these, I have had quite a few failures hence I'm pretty immune to the old "computer says no" operator...

Managed 3 MASAs in J tonight and they were recorded correctly. It will be hello Adelaide and Sydney but on separate trips.

Dont forget your RAC cards cove...;) Sadly Haigh's still don't accept.

Getting to Sydney via Melbourne from Perth and return plus the Perth Adelaide Perth with double SCs does produce 800 SCs.
Now let me get this correct,Adelaide has a Woolies but no Masters and no Costco ? And the nearest Masters and Costco stores are not quite down the street. Lucky you have Coopers and Haigh's chocolates I am thinking.
Yes I had better have some Woolies Wish cards in my bag I guess. Maybe I will try to get some RAA Wish cards using my RACWA membership at Westlakes.

depending on where you are staying the RAA in the city may be more convenient.
also if you are coming from the airport (of course you are) RAA HQ is somewhere on that side of town. Near corner of South Rd and Sir Donald Bradman Drive I reckon. Much easier parking

If that is possible maybe I could get some with my NRMA membership?

Sorry to further hijack this thread, if it is possible to use the motor club memberships interchangeably, can you use them with the RACV online link that seems to direct you to the woolworths site that accepts amex? Saves $31 for the RACV memebrship. And $65 for entertainment book if you want to use amex. Additionally would that then come up as a supermarket spend?

there is some discussion of that somewhere...IIRC it used to come up as supermarket spend but may no longer but I'm sure someone else will know

Thanks Newk. I think I remember the discussion. Vaguely. Has anyone had success using NRMA/RAA/RACWA memebrship to purchase on the RACV portal. I'm guessing not but would love to be wrong. :)

I can confirm that there is no issues me creating an account on https://www.membergiftcards.com.au/RACV/home/home using my RAA membership number and are allowed to proceed right up to (and including) the payment page...

Perhaps someday I'll make a purchase through there and see what happens...

Edit: However reading closely this might be a problem...
