Wow, that was hard work! I wanted a return flight MEL-Darwin in June for work and saw availability in Classic Award Business. Wrote down flights etc and roughly what numbers to expect. Onto the phone for my first time ...
First call: Answered straight away, forgotten the name sorry. "You can do that via the website". I got about ten words into my explanation of what fare I meant then was hung up on, I assume accidentally.
Second call: Queue?! Four minutes, gave up.
Third call: Answered by Virginia straight away. Did not understand what I was looking for (I was saying Classic booked as ASA, and into U/Uniform class), said that I would be crazy to book an ASA. I referred her to Right on Q #7740 and that seemed to jolt her back in her seat. "Oh wow, in ten years I've never done one of these before." Very friendly though. She had to refer to her co-workers a couple of times, but in the end she got through the process like a champ and I have my tickets for 72,000 points plus about $500 co-pay. Earning will be 200SC (no DSC this time
) and about 10,000 points.
Over in a nerve-wracking 25 minutes, 19 of those in the call with Virginia.
