Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Did a JASA yesterday and it has posted as 0 and classic award. On my statement the points deducted says 'Qantas and jetstar any seat award' and was definitely booked in U class.
Have sent a query to QFF with boarding passes and ticket so hopefully they will adjust.

Anyone else had the same issue and was it resolved quickly?

Yeah that happens fairly often. Just needs a phone call to QF and they sort it out in 5 minutes flat.

They also seem to have particular problems with QF15xx flight numbers. But as asg29e said, they can generally fix them for you immediately.

Someone upthread mentioned that he/she had Lifetime Ansett Golden Wing.

That would be worth something, am I right ?

If you were one of those who had paid AUD50.00 for it you had peobably already got your moneys worth.

Those would be the relatively new flights operated by B717s.

6 Apr 14 | Mar 15 | J | BNE-HKG | SIN-HKG | 120,000 | $ 723.00 + $ 30 cc Fee | $ 507.04 | ? | 240

6 Apr 14 | Feb 15 | J | BNE-AKL | 72,000 | $ 433.47 + $ 30 cc Fee | $ 157.74 | ? | 160

Spoke to Cathy. Originally she told me it couldn't be done any more, but went away to check when I gently pushed. All up 41 minutes on the phone and she was VERY helpful in linking several of my Passenger Numbers with others flying in Y on the same flights. Good Experience all round.

(My bolding and quoted from the reference thread) - very useful data point as I am looking to book a BNE-AKL rtn for two of us soon.

Thanks, checked my QFF account this morning and its already been adjusted and fixed. No reply or call back though, but don't care as long as it was fixed!

:D

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Apr 14 | Apr 14 | J | MEL-CBR-MEL | 32,000 | $238.62 + $7 CC fee | $99.62 | 59,620 | 80

My second mASA, and probably my last, sadly. I think the CA was Craig: knew it backwards, done in four minutes for exactly the numbers already in the spreadsheet. I'm excited that this worked less than a week from the flight date, and so cheap. By comparison, flying MEL-CBR-MEL in Economy with Points + Pay on those flights would have cost 32,000pts + $246.80 for no Status Credits. Unbelievable.

Points + Pay would have earned status credits.

How long are MASAs taking to ticket at the moment?
I'm assuming that they're back to within the 24 hour window now that the initial rush around the change announcements has occurred...

I booked a PER-MEL-LHR FASA today for which I was quoted 168,000 + ~$1400, which seems wrong so I'm keen to see what the ticketed outcome is. The booking is at least showing U and P as it should...

good deal if it sticks. I would think the points component should be a bit more (I'm doing a lot of research and dummy bookings as my date window opens soon)

good luck

Yup, theoretically it should be 192,000 minimum points, but I did manage to book a LHR-MEL-PER for 128,000 online back in the day. I fondly remember the site displaying the dreaded message that one cabin (Business) was unavailable, except instead of offering Premium Economy or Economy it offered First.
If it does stick I'm going to assume that PER-LHR vv. is somehow broken (in a good way) for MASAs.

I forgot to add in my previous post that getting to book it was a hassle; I aborted 2 attempts when the staff on the phone said things like "I can't find any availability from Perth to Melbourne in P class" or "P class would mean the normal Premium Economy fare rules apply."
It wasn't until I got someone who said "oh you want to book one of those marginal ASAs?" at the start of the call that I was able to get to this point.

It sounds like you might be fortunate... I can't remember the details -- they're up in the thread somewhere -- but someone else was asking about PER-LHR via MEL as a JASA... I found the routing rules and posted those, which seemed to indicate it was possible... but can't remember the outcome of their attempt. I know it's a long thread, but there details are up there if you're interested to find out... (99% sure it was this thread).

The minimum points for a PER-LHR FASA would be 168K if F was available from PER.

A JASA would be 112,000 while a business classic award 128,000.

Got quoted 128k + 700 bucks for per-mel-lhr on a jasa or 192k + 1200 for FASA...

I wish I could get them to quote me that.

One week ago I was quoted 224k plus a huge $3269 for a PER-xMEL-LHR JASA return (minimum points, maximum dollars). Meanwhile a straight classic awardwas 256k + $1608.

Shouldn't the points value always be the same and dollar component much the same?

If I could get what vitagan got (256k + $1400 return) I'd jump at it.

Just off the phone with the Platinum desk, spoke to a very efficient Scottish lass and booked a FASA to LHR (will be my very first :D)
SYD-MEL-LHR for Mar 15 192,000 points and $977.11.
All done and dusted in 5 minutes

Dammit. Why am I getting such high quotes?

I phoned again this morning and this time was told 224k + $2467.83 for a PER-xMEL-LHR JASA return.
