Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

I have 2 Syd-Bne-Tsv return JASAs booked for next March and June . Whether I fly them or not remains to be seen!

Another speculative but painless booking:

Month booked | Month travelled | Cabin (Y/W/J or F) | Route | Points cost | Co-pay $^ | Classic co-pay $~ | Max points cost~ | SCs earned

Jun 14 | May 15 | J | AKL-MEL-CBR | 36,000 | $238.88 + CC fee | NZ$95.24 | 61,905 | 120 (plus 6,250 points as WP)

There seems to be a fairly major website overhaul in progress... I'm getting lines of code fly past me like in 1980s SF movies.

From London we booked five. Thank goodness for Skype.
i need to work up a few others before June 30th.

Have recent mASA bookers actually seen their bookings ticketed? I'm still waiting on a couple from this week...

Once of each. Mine also (usually) post instantly. I've followed up, but still no lovin'.

I wonder how much all this points burning will cost QFF?

QF already have the cash when they sold the points to various companies. The cost to QF is nominal as they set the number of seats they allocate for rewards and hence they can set the award seats to fill what they can't sell.

Pax complain that they can't get the seats they want so QF aren't releasing too many compared to what the market demands.

This is what really annoys me about the removal of MASA's; QF set the price and only a minority of FF's would know enough to use these options. So how can MASA's be costing QF too much? Yes some people gain status by using them but it's not as if the removal of MASA's would allow QF to sack all the premium phone line staff (I'm not wanting anyone to lose their job; it's just an example).

Ideally QF want us to collect points and never use them???

What kind of value proposition is that?

Is it just me (actually perhaps it's all of you ;)), but are U & P long haul seats in early June 2015 extremely thin on the ground? These should be being released daily but I've been looking every day for a month for the rolling window and found next to zip. Either QF know we are booking these as mASA's and constraining supply, or you lot are snapping them all up in record time! ;)

I finally was able to snag 2 x JASA LHR-MEL in June 14 (on the one day in the month there was any availability), but it was cold comfort as we live in SYD, so it adds an overnight in MEL and a domestic flight the following day. As the following day was outside the release dates, couldn't book the tag on the same ASA.

To the question of ticketing, my SYD-DXB JASA ticketed in a week, the LHR-MEL ticketed within the hour. Seems sporadic. I've had the same with gift vouchers, buy two, one issues in an hour, the other sits in a queue for a week. If you're really concerned you can call up and they can re-queue it which spits it out sooner.

You should be able to add the "tag" flight at a later date at little cost, it essentially requires them to reticket it as a LHR-MEL-SYD once the last leg becomes available.

Thanks for the data on ticketing times. Even the re-queueing hasn't worked this time, which is why I was curious.

Agreed on availability...

Yeah I confirmed it was the 'fully flexible' type JASA as there have been murmurs about weird conditions being imposed lately, so adding shouldn't be a big issue, the nights accommodation at MEL airport doesn't thrill me though due to the 'simpler and fairer' flight timings now arriving MEL in the late evening well after the last MEL-SYD flight.

The other day I added SYD-BNE to a LHR-SYD FASA - cost $55.28 for the two of us.
