Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

AFF lunch?

But that involves leaving the F lounge!

But sure, I was contemplating having a day trip into town for a few hours or lunch at the FLounge, but if it turns into a little AFF thing or something like that, I'm all for it.

I would definitely call and ask about that. Actually, I'd ask about the cost of doing it for cash (rather than points) first.

The ? relates to changing a JASA to FASA on DFW/SYD now that A380 is doing this route

I have been told its possible for a cash only payment of $571 (as long as P class available)

Now I feel that's a fair price for 17 hours in F rather than J

Will advise when re-ticketed

These are still posting as zero points/SCs. Does this fix itself or do I need to call?

I found 1 leg posted after about 5 days, but not the other 3. Called and other 3 posted with right SC but wrong points. Another call, by then about 10 days after flight and then all sorted. You would have to be very patient to just watch and hope.

I'm in HK and China for the next 2 weeks so will see how it goes and follow up when back in Australia.

Looking forward to being on one of the last A380 flights HKG-SYD in F! :)

Not looking forward to the downgrades that follow :(

A data point as far as re-dating JASAs.

I have two JASAs I'd like to re-date, one domestic, one trans-tasman. Both booked in the last couple of days of JASAs, though not issued until many months later.

Neither ticket can be changed to a date more than 12 months beyond the original date of booking (not the date of the flight). Therefore it looks like the last date a JASA can be used will be the 30th of June 2015.

This was always the case, however when the fares existed, it could be re-ticketed for a further 12 months from that day. As the fares no longer exist, that isn't possible any more sadly.

If it is reticketed, will it still be eligible for SC's as per pre June 30 or will it count as a new booking and be Ineligible for SC's as per the current "fairer and simpler" rules?

A very good question, however they can't be re ticketed any more, only revalidated (date and flight number changes) I believe. In which case the ticket isn't reissued and it should be the points/SCs applicable when originally booked.

IME, when I had a FASA credited last week manually due to the wonders of QF IT, I got the SCs and points for the simpler and fairer rates, which was in my favour so didn't gripe about it ;) if it went the other way I'd be after the unsimpler and unfairer rates ;)

I'm puzzled why re-ticketing would help? One of the fares I changed only ticketed for the first time last week. But the validity was taken from the original booking date.

Presumably when the fare types still existed, it was effectively a cancellation and new ticket, rather than a re-ticket, with an associated new booking reference?

I posted the data point as few posters had mentioned their intention to attempt to push their JASA bookings into a later membership year. This is clearly not possible if beyond the 30th of June (or 12 months past the initial issue date, whichever is earlier). This is what I'd expected anyway, but now confirmed by the Contact Centre.

Cheers, I'm one of those ones that wanted to push beyound the 12 month mark. We've resigned ourselves to do the booking as it stands and enjoy the moment.

Yes, our last one is in June 2015, and we are only doing it for the fun of it. Neither SCs or points will matter much, by it means QF have to be across these right to the end!

There was no cancellation required, the ticket was reissued as opposed to revalidated. There is a difference between a ticket and a booking for those playing at home.

Your e-ticket contains both the booking reference and a ticket number. The booking reference stays the same but the ticket number would change if reissued.

Revalidating simply means changing the flight number or date which doesn't need a ticket to be reissued.

In days of old, you could have it re ticketed with a fabricated $1 notional fare increase to get around the rules and have another 12 months from that date (with the right premium desk consultant of course).

Again, all moot now the fares are gone, you can only revalidate.

Interesting, a shame those days have gone :(

We both have four left ..... out of a total of 6 MASA bookings. The four that are left will reap around 1400SC each and everyone of them slide into our new membership year

I wanted to push ours out due to our Gallipoli trip and June being very close......

Have people seen their SC's post on these MASA flights taken since June 2014 without having to chase QF?
