re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

The online JASA's disappeared 26 June & the 3 month anniversary is tomorrow.

Are they still:

a) under 'review'
b) here for the long run but bookable over the phone only
c) vanishing altogether
The answer is B ...

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

Wasn't anytime access meant to be ongoing ?

If people think that MASA's will stay for the "long-term" I'd advise them to think again :)

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

if you get a CSA named "Amicia" you are better hanging up and calling again...

Real struggle, I did try to work with her Red Roo, but clearly she had no training in accepting my call, I am now skeptical on what your posts contain, I have not lost faith totally yet, but after the removal of these offline 3 months it does seem odd that some CSA's still have no real understanding of how to book a "Marginal" ASA...

Now honestly, it looks pretty clear that there is a mismatch with what you are telling us here, & what we are being told on the phone... Not exactly a good look I must say :(

You can also add "Leigh" in the NZ call center to the list too...

I try, try again, eventually I will have a list of names for the CSA's to speak to, and a list for the ones that Qantas needs to provide training... Shame to have your customers do a gap anaylisis on your staff training...

Suggested weeks ago how hard is it to give instructions on one A4 how it works to all operators, apparently to hard, this has become a joke, bloody ridiculous that they simply can't get it right, where before when ASA's were online it was all so, so easy..

I have the patience and will call many times more. Red roo, to whom shall I send the tax invoice for training services provided...? ;)

OK, 0/4 and more than an hour and a half on the phone (thank god for speaker phone).... No luck at all

Can't waste any more time today sorry Red Roo, bookings that can wait I shall call and try again later, but I'm not at all hopeful since clearly its something Qantas no longer want us to do. Flights that must be booked today will be cash fares with Virgin... I'm going to use my Virgin Global Wallet™ card too, since its the only card I have that will credit to points to VA. Yes their product is inferior to Qantas (at the moment), No they don't have status earning on ASA's (however after this mornings efforts Qantas no longer freely offer this either). I'm prepared to give them a chance...Nothing to lose really as I see it.

I really cant understand why Qantas does not just come out and be honest, most companies have methods to measure performance & training, Qantas clearly do not, I do respect & appreciate your participation here Red Roo, but honestly you are quickly losing credibility amongst a valuable portion of your customer base (AFF Members)...

Perhaps less comment is best Red Roo, clearly your opinion of what should be happening is not, and your credibility is suffering. Time will tell if this "head in the sand" approach was a good idea, however for today, you lost some revenue to your competition.

Looking forward to it actually, we can all discuss how we are all slowly being converted over to VA & SQ

Edit: From memory medhead gave an open invite out to Qantas staff at the last lunch they put on, you never know who will turn up I guess, but dont hold your breath...

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

Good luck with SQ. They couldn't give a toss about anyone not on paid j or f. Eg no showers at changi for y class elite frequent flyers.

Fair comment, but at least they fly direct international out of Adelaide unlike Qantas...

Very useful information to have I think. Can we have more of this type of info from other posters?
Perhaps even an enhancement to Jessica Tam's spreadsheet ?

Jessica :?:
I will work on "enhancing" the spreadsheet in the next few days. ;)

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's?

Seems to me that either Shintaro10x has done something to cause bad luck or there is a concerted pushback coming from the CSA's.

Invoking "Hanlon's Razor" I'll stick with the former for now.

I think Shintaro10x is up against "those mysterious ninja enemies" again, each episode taking 30 minutes

I think the former too. Admittedly both of my interactions have been via the provided number then the Platinum desk, but as an example from two days ago:

Rang and explained what I needed. CSA hadn't done many before, but was happy to try. Couldn't get it to price despite availability and offered to ring me back. I accepted and was called back 30 minutes later.

When called back, she explained the price was 156000 points + $900 co-payment. I'd been expecting 108000 points (3 x BNE->SYD->AKL) and explained this to the agent. Again, she understood, and offered to investigate and call back.

15 minutes later she called back to explain that the ASA was pricing BNE->SYD->AKL as separate segments as there was a direct option. So while not the outcome I wanted (I didn't proceed with the booking, and the kids aren't going to make gold!), at every step the service was great.

My only other experience, a week or so earlier I booked LAX->SYD->BNE JASA - I don't think the call took more than 5 minutes, the agent knew exactly what she was doing - interestingly the first step sounded like it involved waiving the booking fee.

So don't give up, Shintaro10x - it can work!
