QF cash is aimed at FF - it's a fail on many fronts. Posting about these things is the whole purpose of this site.....or I have missed something?

That's like saying QF Frequent Flyer membership is aimed at FF's, but we all know it isn't. They're fast approaching 10 million members, with a large chunk coming from Woolworths and a frequent shopper program. You can earn and spend points a lot more ways than through flying, and despite it being multi-currency, spending online at an overseas shop would work right?

If every person in Australia had access to these amazing credit cards, such that this prepaid card was such a fail, I'd think Australia might be in a different position in the world (or they'd be $16 trillion in the hole). However, that's not the case as far as I can see.

So much negativity, all because they didn't take it to the banks and offer a card with 5 points/$1 domestic spend and 0% on currency transfers, like in my dream last night when they named an A380 after me... and gave me lifetime CL, and bought Emirates etc, etc...

For something that's just officially launched, it's a bit early to be claiming it has failed.

You like it - that's cool.

No need to sling rubbish because others post the opposite.....members/guests come to this site to get opinions/views/facts

BTW being honest about a service/offer/scheme isn't negative!

It's a rubbish offer.....that's my opinion, still is and I'll post about it all I want - thank you very much!

Last time I logged onto this site it was called AFF........not the QFF fanboi hangout.

And you dislike it, and make that known every time someone posts about it.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to slag them off so much, so I make a point of challenging that.

I'm not slinging rubbish, you're the one that assumes we can all get better deals. I challenge you to find me a better deal.

Do they arrive by mail or courier?.

I got mine in the post like a normal Qantas card.

On the issue of whether it's a good deal of not. Not being a huge points investor, for me it works because I don't want to apply for and have the fees associated with a credit card just to earn QFF points. For everyday spending in Australia, this is essentially free points.

Geez, how long does it take to get your PIN? Talk about a clunky unwieldy process, I lost track of the number of button pushes necessary. How about a separate phone number to jump straight to the Mastercard system, Qantas, instead of making us go through all those menus first?

(and why can't I choose my own PIN?)
(and why do I have to enter the Xth, Yth, Zth characters of my password to log on, instead of just.. I don't know.. typing my password?)

That's the same as the Woolworths Qantas card. Drives me bonkers. Plus the answer to the secret question. Without the question.

Just boarded 694 and was first to use the PB lane scanner. Machine goes ping...FA sweetly smiles and suggests I shouldn't be using my MC...but wait, it worked on the way up!!

Oh dear, she apologises, she forgot to enable the scanner.

Seems the "clutter" in the back with the bar code just got the better of us.

How we laughed!!

Regards,

BD

Got mine yesterday - nice package - activated it last night - put some money in today and all worked well - put $A in today and will try $US tomorrow seeing the $US has risen slightly today - maybe a bit more overnight.

So the funds were on the card straight away? I thought BPAY took several days.

If it's for unintelligent Ma & Pa, then fine, but some of us actually know about what products are available in the marketplace and these 'travel cards' are frankly a con. They are an expensive product and QF stands to make a lot of money out of them.

If it were a low cost product actually aimed at the frequent traveller, perhaps the reception wouldn't be so icy.

The same rubbish products are trotted out by Travelex et. al., although theirs is pretty atrocious when it comes to rates, fees and charges too.

Sorry to hear you are not eligible for a credit card.

You know what would make this card the most appealing card ever...... Ability to top up using credit card with NO fees to load. I'd even ditch my Citi Select for that...

Oh, and being able to change the pin... ;P

Don't forget this is stage one, we know there are bonus point partners coming, and we know we can lock in exchange rates for an overseas trip which is actually a nice facility for those that budget down to the last dime, for something that's has no annual fee I would not be in a hurry to discard it.

Got my new platinum card today. Came in a plain white envelope that was good however no leather wallet :-( or bag tags.

ID check worked fine on my address however the whole rigmarole of getting transferred twice to collect your pin number and multiple entries seemed over the top - I expect a lot of people to fail at this stage.

The random entry for the login sucks. Equally the lack of ability to save email details on the Android App.

I'm having trouble verifying. I dont have a driving license and it didnt take my passport and electoral roll details and I'm sure they are correct. It only took my medicare and phonebook details which isnt enough to get verified.

I gave up..cant be bothered to print the form and go to the post office especially when I'm not desperate to use it.

So far there's some MasterCard offers and an EpiQure offer not dissimilar to the code in the Qantas mag, but hopefully once they've really got into the roll out they'll consider some bigger offers/specials. Doubling the number of points would be a nice one ;) :p

This is for your account protection. Just in case someone is watching you enter the password (could be a person over your shoulder, a keystroke recorder on the computer, a camera covertly recording your activities etc). The person watching only knows part of your password, not the whole password, making it less likely they can hack into your account.

Yes. But other banks and credit cards have much simpler ways of doing this. Westpac is much easier. Given that most people wouldn't be logging in in a very public area it's just annoying to do this for those few who do.

But the problem is, I don't know my password. I use an app to store all my passwords, which are cryptographically generated, and simply copy and paste from the app when I need to login somewhere. By forcing me to KNOW specific characters of the password it's forcing me to choose a non-secure one which is easy to remember.
