Just received my new Qcash card today...just in time for the SYD lunch.

Looking at the fee structure:

Loading the card - Good basically no fees
Currency conversion fee - Bad 3%

AM EX is 2.5% and 28 degrees Zero

Must say can only see myself using this as a back up on international trips and locally I am way better using my QF AM Ex Ultimate card...where excepted.

Offshore spend with the AMEX Ult will earn 2P/$ :D

QF cash is DOA IMHO.

Is anyone else having issues getting their PIN? I called the number and spent a few minutes with the IVR, then it asks to enter the card number and won't accept all of the digits (times out with no response). I finally got to speak to an operator and he said they are experiencing issues and they would call me back later... I am planning an overseas trip starting on saturday (I don't go O/S much) and was hoping to use this card for convenience... I guess I will use the one Virgin sent me with the PIN included...

Look out for the inactivity fee, $1/month if you don't use it.

I would not be so quick to write it off, it's going to all QFF members and how many of them are eligible to hold credit cards if they have no income aside from pensions etc?

Can't see that pool providing any meaningful well to draw from......however, I'm no banker.

If this site is anything to go by....it's not looking good.

3% "foreign" exchange fee kills it for me. "Whenever a transaction in Qantas Cash results in a foreign exchange...."
There are so many ways to avoid this now - makes you wonder why they bother - so we can all get FFPs? Yeah, right.

Not sure what your post means exactly. But the 3% can be avoided if you use the card properly.

My life is run by pins and passwords. I try to keep a theme. But a completely random one? Not going to work for me.

I end up saving these sorts of pins in my phone which isnt good but I've got enough to remember as it is.

I'm not sure if someone posted these from yesterday yet... The NB is a much nicer colour than the one I've got

The only way to avoid the 3% [or other significant arbitrage] with "Qantas Cash" is to use it to purchase goods/services priced in AUD in Oz.

The three percent is relatively consistent though the industry but use of some other products such as the 28° and City Visa Debit can avoid it.

I've already lined up $500... just waiting for the card and I'll be spending :p

I'm actually holding off making purchases while waiting for the card!

For a massive 1P/2$.....LMAO

Yes, we get it, you have a CC and a large disposable income that gives you access to CC's with high earning potential.

Unfortunately, not everyone is in your position.

Which kinda defeats the purpose of all the different currency loads and use as a travel card? Or am I missing something here? The 28 degrees card is still firmly entrenched in my wallet, and with a pin I can remember.

QF cash is aimed at FF - it's a fail on many fronts. Posting about these things is the whole purpose of this site.....or I have missed something?

Yeah I couldn't do it. Did the automated thing and got redirected to the call centre (also UK based it seems) which redirected me to the automated thing and then back to the call centre where the agent explained they were having technical difficulties and took my 'details' which seemed to be only the type of phone I was using (iPhone 4) and said he would get back to me tomorrow when it was sorted out. *shrug*
