Just confirming, PER-SYD in discount Y is 20sc post July, SYD-MEL is 10 and 3K with "Plus" PER-SIN is only 20SC down from 25?

Thanks!

Hi Red Roo

Can you confirm that travel can still be after 30 June 2014. As I have just tried to book a MASA for travel after 30 June 2014 and was told this was not possible.

Thanks

Thanks Ansett, I have HUCA as you refered to it, and got someone who could book them although I couldn't book it as even though there was classic availablity they could price it as it start in AKL. She could only price MASA starting from within australia. Which is the same issue mussion22 had which they mention in another thread.

Such rubbish they are telling you.

I booked a MASA yesterday, LAX-SYD. And it was on the first call. Yes, it starts in LAX.

I know that it's very frustrating, being told all sorts of things over the phone that just aren't true.

Just keep phoning and you will get someone who will do it for you.

Cheers for the advice, good to hear that someone has been able to book recenlty. I have PM Red Roo and I will try and keep calling again.

Same here; I have booked, in the last couple of weeks, a JASA originating from LAX (for travel in September).

Interesting that now there is less than 4 weeks to go to be able to book MASAs there is no longer a problem doing it.I am a cynical fellow.

If AU Domestic centric - VA program gives ~100% more points than QFF if you fly on flexible rates or in biz. On some routes VA give more SC after July 1, and award redemptions are significantly cheaper.

Apart from familiarity, fear of change, not knowing of better options and thinking it's too difficult - I'm honestly at a loss at why anyone matching this criteria would continue crediting to QFF...

Did I miss something?
Yes you are missing something.

The person that buys the cheapest airfares and is still able to maintain Oneworkd Emerald with Qantas.

Virgin earn is poor on $85 airfares as a Gold or less. And seating is not much better. Lounges poor. Staff attitude poor. And things are not improving.

How do you get to BKK with Virgin? Purchase SQ airfares on Virgin codeshares ex-BKK? That's not going to be cheap.

I satisfy all 4 conditions you mention. Can't go anywhere else. Take what I can get with Qantas.

Post 1 July those $85 fares on virgin get more points for a platinum flyer. It will also take 120 flight with Qantas to retain platinum versus 80 with virgin Australia.

If one must avoid QF/JQ, I suppose it's possible to join Krisflyer. TG has non-stop SYD and BNE to BKK, and you can still earn some very tiny amounts on VA when you have a domestic flight. How that works out depends on your travel pattern, but you can definitely forget trying to get to HKG or TYO non-stop once you get on this path. We never win...

Yes it is possible but not that easy to earn status on cheapest airfares.

Also earn/burn is poor.

And nothing on Scoot or Tiger - one of the big advantages of QFF in my view. Plus while still appalling compared to the US airlines the burn rate on Qantas does look better than Singapore at times

Examples please, can't think of any myself.

OT: Some cheaper fares from ADL to SIN on SQ only earn 10% of miles flown.
Paying Aud$799 odd to get only 200X2=400 points, approx...
I don't know to cry or laugh hysterically!

This thread is about changes to QFF, I cannot see where SQ fits into that ?

EDIT:Missed the "OT" part
