Yowsers! That's crazy.

in my experience it is when you make changes that ticketing really slows down. I did some award flights for my daughter and her partner for next July - ticketed straight away. Then I phoned up and changed them to add a Mel-cbr leg (couldn't do at the time and I was booking day of release of the lax-Mel leg). Girl took Cc details and said they had gone through (akl centre). Three months later no new ticket issued, so I phoned again. Hobart centre I think. Girl said they needed cc details gave them again, said they had gone through and tickets would be received in 48 hours. 3 days later, no tickets, no charge on CC for taxes and no points taken for change fee. Giving up until around May....
Premium economy to Hong Kong in February works out to ~$1499 per person if you find the right flights. From memory this was the sale a few months back and you did not need a companion. Qantas must seriously think we are stupid.
Why is it that flights I booked on 01 September with credit card did not have tickets issued until 2 days ago when I called to enquire why I couldn't access booking.
I needed this spend in September not 2 days ago to ruin an Amex promotion.
Didn't even realise they weren't ticketed as the charges were small and I used residual vouchers.Qantas tickets in the priority it determines. This has caused problems for pax on Qatar awards where QR has auto-cancelled.
I think the important thing to take away is that if you need ticketing to occur for a particular reason - CC spend or just to ensure you have seats (QR), phone QF and get them to push the tickets through.
May get away with the 2 x 3,500 points change fee on my award then.A ticketing delay after a change can be advantageous too: if you make another change before ticketing it will not attract a change fee. Saved me 14000 points on my last award booking.
Hey, Qantas. Why is it that, with only a couple of non-refurbed 747s, you put them on one of your longer routes? I was unlucky enough to get one a few weeks ago SYD-SFO, and tonight I've got the same in the reverse direction. Why not keep them for shorter flights?

If you are flying J, why not pick seats in the old F cabin?
I can see why airlines are constantly in trouble.
My wife in 6C and I am in 6D for todays flight. Forgot to include daughter in booking and called earlier to add her. At checkin they give us boarding passes for 6DE. What happened to my preallocated 2 aisles. No record of you ever having 6C and we can't move her. Why lie to me?
You had no problem moving my wife? I don't understand why anyone would think we want to sit together when I have opposite aisles allocated.
Now there 5 people sitting in 6DEF with 2 infants.
I am not happy.

Too late now but interesting question.I would ask the cabin crew if there are 5 oxygen masks for the bank of seats you are in.
Firstly they were separate bookings but even same booking we're entitled to choose any seats we want. Wife's flight would normally cost the same as any other persons flight but in this case I paid $237 for wifes flight which is significantly more than most airfares on todays flight.I am half with the airline though... pax on the same booking taking all the prime seats and leaving middles for others might be considered unfair. Or pax selecting A and C and expecting B to be left free, or someone to have to take the middle. The other half says you got in first, you should keep it.

Secondly her booking had 6C pre-allocated until ~T-3 hours today.
P.S. Have a paid booking for me in June SYD-HKG in June and points booking for wife/daughter. I'm in 43H and wife/daughter in 43G bassinet. I hope no one with their warped wisdom thinks that I should give up my premiun aisle be sitting in 43F instead? I'm Platinum and will make full use of my benefits whether written or unwritten.
I don't use OLCI. I checked wifes booking today T-3 hours before flight and she was still in 6C.If they were separate bookings it's strange you got moved. Was on-line check-in available?
As I said - I'm split 50/50 on seating issues.
I don't think that's unfair. If you don't like middle seats, then it doesn't matter if there is anyone else in your booking - you simply don't want the middle seat.I am half with the airline though... pax on the same booking taking all the prime seats and leaving middles for others might be considered unfair. The thing that gets me is the checkin agent talking to supervisor on phone and saying there's no record of my wife ever having 6C. Lies but they obviously think they are talking to someone who doesn't know.
I'd love to know who made the change. They should be made aware not to make changes without first confirming that the customer is happy with those changes.
Anyway Qantas is going to get a complaint.
