Always nice to receive an email from Hilton Honors saying "Your Reward Certificate has arrived!". Noted that I have a year and 5 days before expiry (18 Jul 2018), so that shouldn't be an issue .

Where are you both planning on using it? I booked an entire trip to Europe with the plan of staying my certificate at the Waldorf Amsterdam as the last night of the trip but they no longer accept them. Now I am not quite sure where I will get good value before it expires.

Given I have no International trips planned before it expires, it'll probably be PER as I won't get to use it at HSW before it closes.

I usually use my reward certs at expensive hotels. They are only valid for use on Fri, Sat or Sun nights (Thu-Sun in the Middle East).

yes I saw recently mine expires in mid oct and havent spent 12k this year lucky my card is free for life

If you can't find your voucher just ring the 1800 number and they will tell you the expiry date.

I cant find anywhere on the sign up page to say that this card is free for life?? It merely says zero annual fee. No references to year 1 or ongoing...

but I am very interested to see if macq bank really allows it to be "free for life" or would a term change.

It's fee free until Macquarie decides to change the T&Cs

I don't suppose anyone might have experience as to whether you could hold two of these cards? I got mine about two years ago and am paying for mine at the moment (half fee last year negotiated) and am contemplating whether it might work to apply for a second card? Potentially I'd then cancel the first before the next annual fee was due. Why? Well - I could end up with two weekend night certificates and an ongoing fee free card, without messing with my current setup that is working well for my HH status? I did call up to just ask if I could have the fee waived and they said no!

Knocked back for I think the third time with Macquarie. I even closed two credit cards before applying. It does my head in.

I phoned Macquarie in Perth today and asked if it was possible to come in and speak with a personal banker. The woman said no, not possible; all credit card enquiries are handled through Sydney and she offered to transfer me. When I said I didn't want to be transferred to a $2 an hour offshore call centre she said she couldn't guarantee that. I asked for her name and she said "It's company policy not to provide names". Wow. She transferred me and I ended up in Manila. I asked to be transferred to Sydney. Hold for about three minutes. Disconnected.

I have to say I had success with the application on my second attempt. Not sure what I did differently but was thrilled when they said I got approved. Maybe increase your debt a bit more which was suggested by a few people in the forum.
