has anyone ever cancelled a reward certificate stay? do you get to use the voucher again at a later stage?

edit: I called and found out. Yes you can cancel and use the voucher again before the original expiry date.

Due to the hilton sale that is happening at the moment, it is better for me to save it

I am up to 6 business days since application but still no approval. The online application asked for payslip as proof of income but 3 business days later I was called and asked for PAYG Payment summaries ASAP. Sent them in that day but no approval so today I called them and they said still assessing and it will be up to 5 business days from providing all of the information.

Got my eye on redemption at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills for upcoming US trip in December.

I finally received my card last Thursday. Immediately spent $2,000 and received reward certificate Tuesday morning. Called up to redeem but they were closed for Labor Day public holiday. Called this morning and successfully redeemed certificate for a night at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Process was quick and painless - until I was transferred to Hilton Grand Vacations promotions team.

How long normally take for the card being sent out , approved email received Monday but still no sign of card on today Thursday postman run in Sydney

Spoke to the team the other day.
Picked up 500 points so that's about USD 2.50. They have been promoting Orlando for a couple of years now.
On another matter, be mindful of the reward certificate expiry date. For some reason I thought you simply had to book before expiry but as it turns out you have to stay before the expiry date.

Does anyone have any experience with cancelling this card and re-applying for it shortly after?Given it's being offered with a $0 annual fee until 31 October, I am thinking of jumping back on after cancelling mine last month. Terms and conditions say 'Offer is limited to new applicants only', which I interpret as only ruling out current cardholders.

My exp with this card is good so far received the card on Monday called up and update my Hilton account hit 2k spent on Wednesday received a free cert this morning .

They also charge $99 annual fee , called up and they sorted it out quickly refund it the next day saying there is a known problem with their system . It could explain why ppl getting 2nd cert after 12k spent this year

I may have had too many cc sign up's this year. It is the second card I have been declined for over the last 6 months.

Ah well, a few months off new cc's for me I think.

Have SPG/Marriot gold, so will keep using them for the time being.

Its Mac bank - theres something wrong with them. Several years ago now, probably 4-5, I applied for this card and was denied, for no apparent reason ... I didn't take it personally and went on to immediately be accepted by any number of other banks with bonus point CC offers and sometimes ridiculously high credit limits.

Forward to this year, I decided to apply again, as part of a strategy to ensure at least gold status with HH and also because most VISA/MC's have gone to rubbish earn wise ... this one barely any better frankly - still it has perks, so-be-it

Man, still not approved after more than 6 weeks and they are making me jump through hoops. I obviously don't fit their vision of who their customers ought to be. Its all fine, other institutions have a different view and essentially fall over themselves to increase or provide credit - the problem is the lack of alternatives for the HH perks - I'm tempted sometimes to operate a US postal address.

Yeah I'm a bit puzzled with how Macquarie's application process works. Basically I applied for the card in August with a credit score of less than 550 and not having high hopes of getting approved. However to my surprise they approved my application after 5 business days. My friend on the other hand got his application approved but it took more than one months because they needed to verify identification, pay slip and place of employment. Even some of the seasoned AFF members have got declined for no apparent reason.

Certainly a strange bank.
When I applied a few years ago, my credit limit was $3,000 which was below the minimum credit limit that came with the offer. Go figure.
Within 2 months I spent over $40k to get Diamond status, paying off the card almost daily. When I asked for a credit limit increase it was denied.

I did wait for good 2 full weeks and called up , Macquaries saying that my Hilton number is wrong asked me to call Hilton . End up get Gold 3 weeks after cards activation . Best to call up and push them to get it done right if you dont get Gold in 1-2 weeks

i recently applied for this card. gold status happened when the first batch of the rewards points got transferred into hilton honours program!

I noticed that the current $0 annual fee campaign was extended till the end of November, so I held out a bit longer while I cancelled other cards to bring down my total credit limits.

Finally applied on 3 November, card was showing up in Macquarie online a week later and on 13 November I received tan email saying I had been approved. Still waiting to receive the card, but I know to be patient based on my experience with Macquarie

Looks like the fee waiver has been extended until the end of January.

I also got charged a $99 annual fee, and got a similar response to yours when I rang to query it earlier today. When I asked the rep to confirm that I would also be credited any fees (incorrectly) charged for additional cardholders, she insisted that additional cardholders fees are not waived under the current offer - this is despite the website clearly stating $0 additional cardholder fee:

I decided to call their bluff and sent in an additional cardholder form today.

Just a data points for this great cards i received a free night certificate when i reach $2000 spent on SEP 17 a month after cards approved . Today i just received another free night cert after reach $12,000 spent . Next goal is $40K spend for Diamond status .

2 free nights with $12,000 spent with $0 annual fee . Great card to have everyone
