In searching for the 'grammar' thread, I see my mistake here. Belated apologies.

Re: Hilton HHonours Macquarie Platinum Card

Grammer is such a tricky thing. It is certainly misleading I'd say:

[h=3]$0 ANNUAL FEE[/h]Take advantage of our limited time offer and pay $0 annual fee when you apply and are approved by 30 September 2016^. That's an annual saving of $295.

Hmmm, I wonder if this is worth a shot when I am clearly working hard to hit $40,000K by March 31st...
If its 2 certificates annually then its worth it. Only 1 certificate and you are still better off. Just the changes with credit reporting will determine whether or not I keep this card come July.

I’d stopped spending when I hit $12k a few weeks ago based on reports they’d been awarding diamond at $12k. Been a few weeks, no sign of the upgrade. Will need to continue diverting Amex spend to this card :(

Just catching up…will there now be a fee after the first year for those of us who joined fee free ?
Had stopped using it, but might have to push some money through to get diamond and then decide about paying a fee…..

I signed up in 2016 with an offer that said "Take advantage of our limited time offer and pay $0 annual fee when you apply and are approved by <date>^. That's an annual saving of $295."

I wasn't charged an annual fee in Nov 2017.

Yes there definitely was an ongoing $0 annual fee deal on this card and they provided a letter to confirm that fact - very happy.

So I am on the phone to Macquarie now getting my spend data for the previous 12 months. You need to ask the front-line CS who answer the call to put you through to Records, who can get the information. Alternatively, go back over your last 12 months statements from your commencement date and that should match their data (but make sure the transaction date is within the 12 months).

Fortuitously, my card started on 22/2/2010 so now I can track it properly.

Make sure you take off any ineligible transactions

Started putting all of my business expenses against this card ~18 months ago (apart from ATO spend, haven't started using Macq HH CC yet). So at the moment, don't have any ineligible transactions, but will be asking for the current T&C's to see what is eligible for the future.

I signed up for the card in December, have put through spend and can see the following in my points activity through the Hilton Honors site:

16 Jan 2018
MACQUARIE ONBOARDING FREE NIGHT CERT

Am I right in thinking I should have received an email with my certificate or something along those lines by now? Even though I haven't, I'm guessing I have to call to book and they should have it on file anyway?

How long ago did you sign up and hit your $12k spend?

I signed up in Jan and hit my $12K spend for the second certificate within weeks. Nothing showing yet. Not even points transfer to Hilton.

Extracts from an email that I received from Hilton Honors after required spend. I did not need to chase them for it. Not sure how long it took, but would have been within a few weeks from memory. I was already a HH member prior to getting the credit card. The certificate contained a certificate number.

Yes, you should have received an email, but don't be concerned. I've redeemed two of these, and I've not had to quote the certificate number, Honors has them on file.
