Try by not assigning a credit limit and leave it at max available. Who knows may work...

Lot of people get rejected first time. Don’t kick yourself over it. There’s other cards that’s worthwhile.

This was just going to be good for the HH Diamon Status. Otherwise I wouldn't be applying.

I've just applied for the HH Macq CC and have been rejected and I'm super annoyed!
The total income for my wife and I is pretty high, we have no mortgage, we have minimal expenses, and I applied for the minimum 6k limit.

I got them to run the numbers again just now on the phone and they said it was rejected, so I asked what if I changed my rent and living expenses costs... and the lady said she could escalate the request and have them look at it again... so I lowered my monthly expenses by $500, and rent by $300 and she's now submitted my 'false' figures for review...

I find the latter acceptance laughable that they allow this to happen. But I'm also frustrated with how strict they are potentially on applicants? My credit score is also "Good".

Anyone had any luck re-submitting figures/applications etc?

Nah, lied and said 10k total limit and just 1 card.

Macquarie bank has a funny way of doing things, thats why I haven't dumped this card. I always lie with credit card limits and under quote expenses. Problem is now I don't know how much they can see regarding credit card limits.

Macquarie Bank use Equifax for their credit reports their rejection letter says. And the ANZ Black Visa is on my file as a 50k limit :| Instead of the 15k limit it was when I had it pre March 2018. Interesting.

The Equifax has every credit card I applied for. 50% of the cards I closed show a "$0" credit limit, but the other 50% of closed cards (dating 2016 or 2017) still show a credit limit. So I'm wondering if Macq Bank think I still have these open.

So you could confirm to Macquarie that you no longer hold those cards (proof may be needed) - I suppose it depends on how much effort one wants to put in versus potential outcome (getting card)

You're in very fine company! I too have been KBed for this card and I'm not sure what else to do besides giving MacBank the 20 pound baby (the wide berth). I'm on a 6 figure salary, own house and as a single person I have very little expenses. My Achilles heel is credit card apps which I've wracked up a cricket score in the 4.5 I discovered this lark.

I would take it as free every year, as this is the wording that I have photocopied to keep, just in case I get charged in the second year.
"$0 annual fee for primary and additional cardholders (apply and be approved by 31 January 2018)" - therefore nothing about free for the first year.

Hi all, I have tried to read most of this thread....

I am thinking of going for this credit card in January / February as I am waiting for 4 credit enquiries to drop off my credit report.

I make about $70k a year and Mac is my main bank for the past 2 months. 2 credit cards - AMEX Essentials and NAB Qantas with limits of $4400 and $500.

Credit Savvy score is currently 767/1000 and Veda is currently on 789/1200.

How many points should I expect to be coming off my credit score due to the Mac enquiries and what do ya'll think about my approval chances?

n=1, reached $40K a few weeks back but my printable membership card still states expiry 0f 03/18. A quick chat on the Hilton website revealed a 31/03/2020 expiry.

Unfortunately it looks like this card is no longer being offered by Macquarie.

It has dropped off the list of cards on their site (though the old page with the $0 before January 31st still exists without the application button).

Apart from the Amex Plat cards does anyone else know of any cards that provide hotel status?

Visa Signature Gold after 2 stays offer still seems to be running until 30 June.

Hmm interesting. I just used it for a month and have the gold status and free night cert. I wonder if I should keep using it? I'm worried they will stop it soon? Will that happen to current hilton card holders?

You're kidding! My wife just got approved for this card today after applied 2 weeks ago!
You're right - they used to have the 4 columns of the 4 x earning partners on the site. Now it's just 3 earning partners!

I wonder what this will mean.
