Hilton Honors Macquarie Platinum Card

You're kidding! My wife just got approved for this card today after applied 2 weeks ago!
You're right - they used to have the 4 columns of the 4 x earning partners on the site. Now it's just 3 earning partners!

I wonder what this will mean.

I hope I don’t lose my gold status before my stay in late December. Surely they will honour those who have the card ?

Your gold status is with your hilton account. That will be valid at least until the expiry in March each year. Depending on when you qualified, it could be March 2020.

I’m hoping they grandfather existing cardholders. It’s one of my favourite cards giving me diamond status and free nights with no annual fee.

Thanks. I don’t spend the $40k on this card to get diamond as I would prefer to use it on my plat edge Amex.

The sole reason for me just getting this was for Diamon status. But it'd take me a while to grt to the 40k so here's hoping they keep it live!

If you received gold status this year, it will last all of this year and the next right up to March 2020. As a pro tip if you want the elite status to last at least 2 years, you would aim to have gold or diamond status at the start of the year. This is only for Hilton Honors, for Starwood and Marriott they work off a different renewal period.

I'm guessing Macquarie resets your spend after each year to qualify for Diamond?

Thanks for the info. I got gold status beginning of this month.

Cheers,
K.

Wishing and hoping this card comes back soon. It's one I've coveted and have had my sights on for a while....

Hi all, I spoke to macquarie asking if there is an annual fee if i apply today given on the website it says that the $0 annual fee deal expired at end of jan 2018. The person told me that although the date on the website is long gone, the deal is still valid and its $0 annual fee for the life of the card! The only annoying thing is this was a phone conversation so I have no proof. Just letting everyone know. So I'm gonna risk it apply for this card soon.

How

How do you apply if it’s not on the website?

Hard to know as I also rang up and got a different answer. It’s best to get it in writing for proof.

Did your wife use this link? And if so, did she get it annual fee free?
If yes that would be all the evidence I need to launch.

Well she would have used this link 2 weeks ago when it was still accessible via the Macq website. And I had called them a month earlier to confirm the $0 yearly fee in the 1st yr and the call centre person said "if the website still says that then that is the offer". So I believe we will have the first year free.

And my wife called today to confirm the card was approved, and she just received an approval email. Maybe they've just removed it by mistake?

No-one's received an email saying the service is stopping (like what the banks sent a year ago regarding Amex dual cards etc..)? So maybe it is a mistake.

Thanks big_Red. I might keep the powder dry until there is more clarity. I just got accepted for the NAB Qantas card (via Pointhacks) yesterday so I'm happy to idle for a month or so.

Have we heard anymore? The card has not resurfaced on the Macquarie credit card main page. If the card is disappearing, I am hoping to make the $40K first to get Diamond for another year. I'm only a few thousand bucks away and anniversary date is coming up in November.

We received the PIN letter in the post tomorrow. So I assume the card will come today or tomorrow. And then when we call to activate I'll ask them what's happened to their website and let you know what they say.

revamp of the card.. would not surprise me at all
Fee free , status, insurance , points earn .. couldn't last.. no free lunches
Just hope I get my 40k done before they pull the plug.
