Only way to improve on the current offer would be to move it to Amex as MC & Visa are crimped for good points earn.

Features of this card are otherwise pretty good - especially for a fee free card ... might explain the free annual fee if it’s about to be discontinued ... shame.

In my experience, the free nights didn’t post to my Hilton account for some months.

The free night took about 3 weeks to post after reaching the spend amount each time

I've only had this card since late December. Stayed maybe 10 nights in total. Logged in the other day to Hilton to make a booking and somehow I have gone from Gold to Diamond? I definitely did NOT put anywhere near 40k on the card to get comp Diamond, nor have I met the usual hurdles with HHonors to make diamond. Anyone else know why I have been upgraded to Diamond? I'm too scared to ask Hilton in case it was an error and they correct it!

If you read upthread you will see you are not the only one.

Never contact the hotel/airline/bank in these cases just enjoy the ride. A call is the fastest way to kill the extra benefit and you have nothing to gain by calling them.

We definitely need a hotel chain specific card, AMEX is now (well as of August) terrible for hotel point transfers.

A card like this where you can spend your way to a decent status is great, and something we lack compared to the USA.

Would be great if Hyatt or Marriott decided to issue their own branded card in Aus, but I'm not going to hold my breath for that happening anytime soon.

With Amex Marriott devaluation & expexted withdrawal of the currently excellent Macquarie card, I’ll be interested to see if Hilton come up with a new product in Australia.

I’d consider a new product like the Macquarie card which can help you get to Diamond as I don’t stay enough to get there on my own and enjoy the perks.

Hey all, I also got Diamond (without qualifying) which tells me maybe they're upgrading everyone prior to announcing closure of this card. It wouldn't be fair to announce something like that for those who were trying to achieve, but haven't yet reached, a $40k spend.

Also on another note, I've received my $2k and $12k reward certificates, with the latter arriving as soon as I hit $12k, and not on the anniversary. So because of this, I wonder, since I've now passed my anniversary date, if I'd receive the next reward certificate as soon as I hit $12k spend again?

If emailed, is it from Macquarie or Hilton?
It shows as a transaction in my points activity (MACQUARIE ONBOARDING FREE NIGHT CERT ) but I don't know if I ever received a certificate

It's emailed from Hilton to your Hhonors email address. No need to quote the certificate number though, you can just call up Hhonors and they'll be able to see the reward night on your account.

Download the app, log into account. Navigate to Points Activity and if you have received a rewards night certificate, it should be there. No need to quote any email. When you go to book your rewards night they should see it on your account.

Definitely shows on my points activity. I assumed there was something I needed to show during checkin but most likely confusing it with IhG
