Hilton Honors Macquarie Platinum Card

Surprise extension for me too. Woo!

Can someone advise.. Does the certificate have to be booked or slept-in by the expiry date?

Hilton Gold is a standard card benefit no criteria except for holding the card is required.

Also on another note, I've received my $2k and $12k reward certificates, with the latter arriving as soon as I hit $12k, and not on the anniversary. So because of this, I wonder, since I've now passed my anniversary date, if I'd receive the next reward certificate as soon as I hit $12k spend again?

I am also wondering this. After the first year do you just get one free night certificate once you go past $12k spend, or is it one free night certificate on anniversary and another free night certificate once you crack $12k spend each new year?

Pele.

Definitely shows on my points activity. I assumed there was something I needed to show during checkin but most likely confusing it with IhG
Something you need to be aware of @Steady as I almost lost my free night.
I thought you only had to book it before expiry but you actually have to use it by expiry.

So I am on the phone to Macquarie now getting my spend data for the previous 12 months. You need to ask the front-line CS who answer the call to put you through to Records, who can get the information. Alternatively, go back over your last 12 months statements from your commencement date and that should match their data (but make sure the transaction date is within the 12 months).

Fortuitously, my card started on 22/2/2010 so now I can track it properly.

So with my year beginning on 22/2, I got advice this morning that I now have a free night - but don't know at what time point I achieved the $12K spend, so I think I'll ring up.

Does anyone try to use the reward certificate to book in Australia lately (in the last few weeks)?
My friend tried to use it and has been advised that the certificate can’t be used as Hilton in Australia is no longer accepting it.

I booked a while ago but used the certificate on a stay at Hilton Sydney last Sunday.

My certificate came as soon as the transactions for 12k cleared.

There should be no reason why you can’t use the cert in Australia. Maybe there is no availability for that day.

I rang up this week and booked into Hilton Sydney for a stay in Nov.

Apparantely you can only book into a basic room, I tried to book into Adelaide last year and was told Adelaide Hilton doesn’t have any basic rooms, so I couldn’t use the certificate.

This will be my second time using it at Sydney.

Thank you for the confirmation! Is the basic room equivalent to the listed guest room on Hilton app?

No idea sorry. All I was told when I tried to book in Adelaide was that the hotel didn’t have any basic rooms and I couldn’t use the weekend certificate for any other rooms.

There has to be a standard reward room available for you to use the certificate. Do a search for availability online before ringing up.

Agree as well - just availability on a standard guest room required to be able to use the certificate. Rather than just click the agree though I thought I'd add that this does also include the Adelaide Hilton as I rang up a few weeks ago and used two for later this year there. All the best!
