It will depend on how you value honors points. If it costs less to buy than what you get back in value than go for it. I value them at 1cpp but a lot of others reckon they're worth .5cpp.

You can buy points at 0.5c US during 100% bonus promos which happen a few times a year so shouldn’t pay any more than that.

$400 spend get $80 cashback on AMEX on at the moment. coughulative, multiple properties.

Better than nothing!

Can only be used once at each property I believe
As it says "in one or more transactions", I assume that means multiple stays at one hotel can contribute to the $400 for the cashback, but the cashback can only happen once per card per property.

One property per card, but multiple transactions will count. Maximum ten properties. Mainly in Asia-Pacific region.

Promo is coming in handy to see when a hotel actually charges your card - an email from AMEX lets me know!

Double points for paying with Visa in Asia Pacific from 1 October to 31 December 2018.

Hilton Honors Double Hilton Honors Points with Visa Landing Page.

Previously I have been able to stack this with the normal double points promo (Triple Diamond promo last year) and the Amex cash back offer by having a Visa on file for payment but paying at the hotel on seperate cards with enough on each Amex (4 cards for a week in Adelaide for the Ashes last year) to trigger the cash back then leaving a nominal charge left to pay on the Visa (Macquarie Hilton).

As always YMMV.

Thanks. Landing page says "selected hotels", but I couldn't find the list. Any clues?

Unfortunately I don't I guess you could ask via chat or email if a particular hotel is participating or not.

I have a one night stay booked for Hilton Parmelia Perth mid November so can report back. This one won't be enough to trigger the Amex credit though.

In London right now and would have been nice. Still, have benefited from it in Singapore and Bombay already.

True about London not in this deal but I just snagged three nights at the Hilton Kensington next year for GBP100/night and I'm pleased with that, considering it has a (small) Exec Lounge.

Awesome, thanks - registered. Will have a 3 night stay at Hilton Perth on November, already got the Amex one loaded as my first option (better % return), but this Visa one might be handy for the balance (also have Macquarie Hilton Visa). After all, my employers' travel policy only reimburses me for $400 on a 3 night stay ;)

Yeah it is nice when these come together.

Any recommendations for what room type to book at Parmelia on a 1 night stay as a Diamond to minimise cost but maximise upgrade potential.

Staying there for the first time but will be checking in after work then out to dinner and the ballet so a room upgrade isn't super important but would be nice (we are only staying here to avoid having to drive or cab home would be about the same as the base room rate).
