Why?........Count one pleased person, as an Accor rather than a Hilton member (Asking why would be a legitimate question, but that's another (longer) story ...)
+1, I couldn't share either because of the news embargo and respect for the person advising me. I'm hoping the DT's prices allow for MR'sI was given a bit of notice, although had to keep it to myself until it was announced publicly.
It is a shame, as I believe that the service there is second to none. Regardless of the branding, I hope that the staff are looked after and either taken on by Pullman, or offered suitable positions at HSW or MEL
The govt rates are sitting around the same as HotP.+1, I couldn't share either because of the news embargo and respect for the person advising me. I'm hoping the DT's prices allow for MR's

That's big news. And not going to make many people happy.
I'll be happy. I am an Accor advantages member and it's close to residence
For me there was no comparison between the service at each HH in MEL. HotP won hands down. When one door closes, another one opens. The proverbial door being the new Double Tree above Flinders Street Station. Not really too emotional over this demise of HoTP, IMHO it is a bit of a hole compared to HSW.
26th sounds good but who is going to fly me back from Bolivia for it :?:
I've had many stays at HOTP and enjoyed it, particularly the EL.
I've only ever stayed at several Accor hotels, but I'm surprised that Accor would rate HOTP at Pullman standard, rather than say a Grand Mecure/Mecure, which I would have thought would be the approximate fit.
I'm no authority on Accor, but I thought that Pullman rooms were meant to be bit more plush/luxurious. Maybe they plan to spend some money in updating.
Edit: Something above a Novotel
Swanning_it,I really must say, I have never stayed at HoTP because it looks so......well.....awful!
Due to the many positive reports here on AFF, I've relented and am staying there this weekend, so who says leopards don't change spots.......now I hear it's all too late (so to speak)!
But what disappoints me most is.........the number of AFF big mouths who chose to keep the secret! Solidarity gang.....where's Lech Wałęsa when you need him?
Finding the levels among chains is always fraught with difficulty, and whatever I am about to say will no doubt result in someone pointing out a hotel somewhere where it is not the case, but having stayed at a cross section of hotels, the Pullman is more or less Hilton level, possibly a touch higher. Certainly something achieveable at HoTP. On the luxury side, that brand at Accor is the Sofitel, and that would align more closely, in my view, with the Conrads of the world. The people in for a real shock in all this are the Hilton people. Unless Hilton can weave some magic on the Citigate, I am imagining disappointment all round for people changing their bookings to that property.I'm no authority on Accor, but I thought that Pullman rooms were meant to be bit more plush/luxurious. Maybe they plan to spend some money in updating.
