How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Is this thread for the Australian Hiltons, or can we contribute the overseas Hilton experience? I got a status match to Gold and put on a Diamond Fast Track (21 nights in 90 days) and I'm working my way through the US at lots of different Hiltons, but I don't want to pollute the thread with lots of posts about irrelevant properties.

We've had international reviews here before, and I don't think there are separate threads.

Post away - it'll be refreshing to read how the US Hiltons go.

I think it's nice to hear about the treatment at different propreties. Will make a nice change from the "I got upgraded at HSW ;)"

REVIEW:
This is an excellent, newly refurbished hotel near SFO if arriving late / departing early. There is a free shuttle to / from SFO, and I understand that it is one of the few hotels in the area that provide free parking. Apart from a great view of the bay and planes landing / departing SFO, there is little to do around the hotel. However, yoiu can take the free shuttle to SFO, and then take the BART downtown (30-40 mins).

We arrived past midnight en route back to Sydney from the Galapagos, and left the next evening; we caught the BART (USD$16.20 return IIRC) to / from downtown for lunch and a stroll in the city prior to our long flight back to Syd. Some pics:

Very good executive lounge. The internet in the rooms was wired, so sitting in the lounge having a beer and using the net was good.

I had a room in the new building, it was excellent. Everything worked well, clean.
Downside, it has the sensor activated minibar.

post away, we put in overseas stays as well, just that we seem to all have been local recently, I wish I could put my Mar Bali Conrad stay in again and say i'd just returned from there, the holiday is only a distant memory now - sigh

Just had 3 reward nights at Molino Stucky Hilton Venice. Probably one of the best Hiton experiences to date. Wifi only in common areas was the only downer but siting in the exec lounge ( on ground floor) having few Moretti,s and local wines while chatting to Oz based daughters on Skype was great. Roof top bar was great , a little expensive but still excellent experience. Lots of very loud and ignorant Americans and Germans but at present the whole of Europe seems that way. Great times.

Upgrades as a gold received recently at all Hilton stays, including:
  • Melbourne South Wharf (I thought this had the best breakfast in a lounge I've had, mainly as it really suited my tastes - ie had decent juices, breads, spreads & cereals and local type hot food offerings. Nothing like a good Australian breakfast - - as opposed to generic "western breakfast")
  • Trafalgar London (no exec floor in this property, but upgraded room and free breakfast in cafe)
  • Beijing Airport
  • Beijing
  • St Louis Frontenac
  • Mumbai International Airport

HSW again to exec floor; asked for and received 2pm check-out. Breakfast really as described in previous post (warm options were ham/cheese mini croissants and French Toast).

27 May - 4 June
Property: Fiji Beach Resort
Room booked: Studio Beachfront via APAC promo
Rate: $523 FJD
Received: After a frustrating experience following the conversion via Hilton of my original AP booking to the APAC promo, and being told by the property that I had booked 2 rooms when I hadn't, was given guaranteed upgrade to 1BR beachfront by way of compensation. Subsequently we didnt actually use the guaranteed 1 BR, but accepted "e-upgrade" to 2 BR beachfront, then after a few nights paid a little more to eventually end up with 2Br deluxe beachfront with plunge pool for 611 FJD per night.
Welcome card, small kava bowl, free internet & free breakfast.

Property: Hilton Adelaide
Room booked: queen guest room
Rate: $135 (before Hilton Macquarie 20%)
Received: upgrade to King Executive, two small bottles of water, lounge access, breakfast in the restuarant

I just checked into the hotel tonight after having not stayed here for a couple of years. It's been too long between drinks. A porter greeted me at the cab door and promptly took my bags. By the time I'd paid for the taxi and walked inside, my bags were placed neatly at reception. What's more they were at the HHonors check-in desk. As I walked towards the desk "Welcome Mr Danger". Wow. Obviously the porter had looked at one of my bag tags with my name on it and mentioned it to the check-in agent who must have recognised my HHonors status. This all in the space of a few seconds. That, to me, is service. A porter who doesn't just carry your bags but goes that tiny bit further.

The check-in agent had an 'In training' badge on but it didn't show. She was excellent, asked how my day was and informed me that the executive lounge had just re-opened tonight (after a refurb, I think). I enquired as to whether my rate included breakfast or not, she checked and said negative, just in the lounge. No problem. I walked up to the room which is fantastic. Bright, spacious, very comfortable. I'd been in the room a minute or two and the phone rang. It was the check-in agent apologising: apparently I am allowed breakfast in the brasserie "anytime at this property". She apologised saying "I'm still getting to know things". I told her it wasn't a problem.

Off to the lounge which is, again, bright and comfortable. Quality furnishings, a big screen and a smaller one, a good selection of liquors and a decent food spread.

Very impressed.

You got a mighty good deal there. Last time I tried to book a King executive nearer the start of the year it was almost 400$ a night. Your upgrade was really nice :)

Its been a few years since I was at the Hilton ADL, I remember it being quite special even then - very good service. I must say, I've noticed a distinct pick-up in Hilton service over the last year, almost like someone in high management is reading these forums. hahaha.

I've got a trip planned to ADL in November, glad to see the Hilton there is keeping up the high standards.

They do take a somewhat active role. During OzFest last year they were involved on the FT thread.

booked KING HILTON DELUXE - BEST AVAILABLE RATE
Got upgraded to KING RELAXATION ROOM with access to the executive lounge which included breakfast.
Pity I was only in the room for less than 8 hours,
The room was huge and had so many light switches took me 10 minutes to find them all. :-|

Only 10 more qualifying stays required in 2011 to keep Hilton Gold. :(

Hmm. That room is almost a suite isn't it? I didn't think HH did upgrades to suites ... sounds like you got really lucky with that one.
