How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Thanks Lindsay, I appreciate the photos. Going to HSW shortly and getting quality pics of the accommodation is a challenge - tripadvisor has a few but people don't often name their photos in a useful way.
Happy to help, Moopere - in fact, I have gone and given descriptions to each of them. Maybe I should go and put on Trip Advisor

It was Room 1702 FWIW

Wow, I checked out at 9am yesterday. I've never had point post the day of a stay  and show the next day:

Kudos to Hilton South Wharf again!

Well as painfully obvious as this is, serfty, straitman, right again.

HH Gold
Property: Hilton South Wharf Melbourne
Room booked: King Hilton Guest Room
Rate Paid: $184
Room Received: King Hilton Executive Guestroom

This hotel is excellent. Amazing service. Excellent canapés.
Awesome views from the executive lounge.
But the rooms are the best thing. Nice modern bathroom. Lighting and views great!
You're all spot on. I'll be here from now on.

Thanks guys.

I have to agree here. As a HH Gold, I always get an upgrade at Melbourne South Wharf, the best service, they can't do enough for you.
I have stayed there quite a few times now and will continue to do so.

Can't speak highly enough of this hotel.

Coops

HH Gold
Property: Hilton Adelaide
Room booked: King Hilton Guest Room
Rate Paid: $160 (AAA best available rate)
Room Received: King Hilton Executive
Two bottles of water in room, choice of breakfast in lounge or full buffet. but no card from GM, greeting from duty manager, choccies, scotch etc - all things I've received before.

HH Gold
Property: Hilton Melbourne Airport (a couple of days before it ceased to be)
Room booked: King Hilton Guest Room
Rate Paid: $182 (Corporate rate)
Room Received: King Hilton Executive - no perceivable difference in this hotel except on floor 8/9 and some extra toiletries.
Two bottles of water in room.

Welcome card from the manager saying I had been upgraded to a spa suite - but not a spa to be sighted. I was only there for 1 night by myself, so wasn't too bothered.

HHonors Diamond
Property: Hilton Sydney
Booked: King Deluxe with a request for twin beds or a rollaway (the twin room was more expensive at the time of booking)
Rate paid: four consecutive nights but booked individually, $192.72, $203.67, $243.67, $192.72 (gross rates, before the Hilton Macquarie 20% discount was applied).

I'd been in touch with the hotel the week prior to discuss room configurations. We needed two beds and I was hoping that one of their more superior rooms would accommodate a twin arrangement. I was told by Hiilton Worldwide Reservations that only the twin rooms have two beds, not any of the suites or relaxation rooms. The hotel then told me that the relaxation rooms can be configured for twin beds and that the junior suites can also be configured with two. On arriving overnight Perth I phoned the hotel to see if our room might be ready and this time was told the junior suites were all sold out and the relaxation rooms can't be configured for twin beds. Very annoying. We got to the hotel about 8.30am and were able to get into our room, a corner (slightly larger) twin room about 9.30am.

There was one complimentary bottle of water. On the second day we got two sets of Hilton cookies and two bottles of water, plus a non-personalised welcome note from the GM. On day three, a separate welcome note (assumedly because of the individual reservations) and two bottles of water. We also received lounge access and full breakfast for both in the restaurant.

It took about 15 minutes to sort the bill out at check-out, partly because of two charges that were inadequately labelled but moreso because I was told that the $5 room service tray charge (of which we had three) was not subject to Hilton Macquarie 20% discount. I was less than impressed with this and the front desk agent said he was check with his manager. When he returned he said the manager's response was the $5 charge is a "service charge" and therefore the 20% doesn't apply. What a load of cough. I've never had this happen before.

GCC, missed you at the Hilton by a day - but I only left PER yesterday afternoon. Amanda (Asian) was good at check-in; the Customer Relations Manager (very nice, can't remember her name, heavily pregnant) was fantastic at check-out

I saw you were checking out yesterday - arrived at 4.30pm. Love the look of that king suite, but the king deluxe plus is a very nice large room, especially at the price paid.
It is well over a year since I stayed here and the whole experience seems much improved, helped of course by being HH Gold.
Had a very nice (if a bit pricey) dinner at The Globe.

Yep upgrade for Shrek and I today, booked standard king, upgraded Exec Floor, 2 bottles water.
Currently enjoying the canapés at the Exec Lounge ( much better than Hilton Sydney) prior to heading off to Melbourne Wine Room, happy days ;)

Princess Fiona, are you aware that straitman is booked in there tonight as well - you'll have to find him at breakfast tomorrow (ask Dolphin, Claire or Stephen at the Lounge for Bill - they all know him well ;), or just look for the large family group)

I was in the HSW exec lounge between 5:30pm and 7:10pm Saturday night.

The straitman group showed up in dribs and drabs, most around 6:15.

In over 12 stays at this hotel, I have never failed to receive an upgrade. This was generally a gold; this was my first stay as a diamond.

Princess Fiona,

Sorry we did not know you were there. I looked but did not see any green Ogres in the lounge :!:

The lounge staff at HSW were nothing short of amazing over the weekend. Nothing was too hard and they allowed a few extras in prior to us wandering down stairs to dinner. They even allowed a few of us to remain in the lounge after closing on Friday night to finish our wines.

HH Diamond
Property: Hilton South Wharf
Fri 6th & Sat 7th May
Room booked: Two Bedroom Apartment
Rate: $501.50 (less 20% Hilton Macquarie discount) per night
Received: Two Bedroom Apartment , four bottles of water.
Restaurant dinner for 17 adults, one child & 1 infant. HPC discount applied for all meals. (We had 3 HPC cards between us.)

Property: Hilton South Wharf
Sat 7th May
Room booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Rate: Reward certificate
Received: Upgraded to King Executive room, two bottles of water.

The overall experience of the weekend was exceptional with all the staff going out of their way to make everything as good as possible. The only possible downside was the Wagyu steak that was not on the menu but was offered turned out to be $65 and not a whole lot better than the $36 Sirloin.

Personal opinion only but I would not normally book a Two Bedroom Apartment again as they are quite cosy when compared to other rooms in the hotel. It was booked for a specific purpose and fulfilled that purpose.

Great stuff, glad to hear you all enjoyed your stay. I did spot a large noisy group  in the lounge on Sat evening but was not aware it was AFFers until I read Lindsay Wilson's post. I was indulging in my favourite habit of people watching whilst waiting for Shrek to return from shopping !!
Next time I'll try not to be shy

Is this thread for the Australian Hiltons, or can we contribute the overseas Hilton experience? I got a status match to Gold and put on a Diamond Fast Track (21 nights in 90 days) and I'm working my way through the US at lots of different Hiltons, but I don't want to pollute the thread with lots of posts about irrelevant properties.
