How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

What happened that every Hilton was to get a lounge, they have redone the lifts and added some new carpets but still no lounge, come on this is the 21st century and this Hilton can charge some outrageous pricing.

Try Hilton Auckland - no EL and often outrageous pricing! Only given is that it appears more modern than the Parmelia.

The two Japanese Hiltons my sister is staying in her forthcoming vacation also lack ELs. Then again, one of them still has wired only Internet in the rooms (wifi only in common areas).

Hilton AKL defo pricey. They said to me they are "too small" to have an EL. Much more modern than Parmelia (I don't mind the Parmelia BTW).

We have stayed at the Narita Hilton a couple of times. No EL but the price is right especially when spouse stays free.
I carry a TP Link wireless travel router - it's useful in lots of hotels and doesn't take up much room.

Some time since my last stay here (as it is home town) and have to agree with comments on AFF that this Hilton seems to have gone
downhill.

Agreed about the Hilton Narita.. Have another stay booked this year.
Great transit hotel.

Great transit hotel.

We also have another stay in 3 weeks...
The free shuttle bus to Narita town and Aeon Mall is also a bonus. Aeon is great for last minute shopping before flying home.

Booked: King Guestroom Plus (original AAA rate $227; cancelled and rebooked at $189 AAA rate as price had dropped the week before). No NOR1 requested.
Received: King Deluxe, + Executive lounge (2 bottles of water, and 187ml bottle of wine with a form note-card from the Manager)

Status: lowly Gold

Hotel: Adelaide Hilton

Nights: Five

Booked: cheap and cheerful king guest room (corp rate)

Upgraded: king executive

Arrived 4 hours early and told fully booked - Aust day long weekend plus some cycling event is on (tour down under).

Front desk called 2 hrs later and advised room was available. The hotel full of media personalities and various ceo's for the bike teams, seems like they were broadcasting from the conference rooms on level 2.

Sensational service again from this hotel, welcomed breakfast in the restaurant, bottles of water awaiting plus exec lounge access however, no welcome note though I suspect this was due to me being so early.

Conrad BKK

Booked base room- no idea what I paid
Received room on level 27. Likely exec room
Saw I was Diamond and taken to do checkin in my room. Very efficient. Welcome letter, fruit platter, chocolates, a giant double macaron and Conrad elephant in the room. All very nice.
Exec lounge has a decent spread at night with self pour wines and coughtails on order. The food selection is large and would easily double for dinner- rice, tempura, curry, soba noodles, sushi, teriyaki chicken, cheeses, fruits, breads and cold meats.

I think this place is a little empty, everyone in the hotel is having breakfast in the EL and it's still very quiet.
The gym is the biggest hotel gym I have ever seen. They even have rings!! I don't normally have access to rings on holiday so this was a great bonus.
The pool is quite large too, and I was the only one there this morning. It's a real resort-style pool with trees etc.

Overall a very nice hotel, and gets a +1 over the hilton millennium (only been there once also and checked in at 11pm so probably worth giving them another shot...)

Booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Received: King Guestroom. High floor. Exec floor access and Diamond benefits (including 1K MyWay bonus points)

I had checked out from my previous 3 day booking (for Conference) and stored bags with Concierge. Arrived back at 6.15pm, Front Desk confirmed that property was full, so no Suite upgrades available. Just happy to have wireless access free and standard 2 bottles water. No welcome card from GM (talking with a number of AFF'ers there that night, nobody got one - but with a changeover of GM happening, perhaps understandable that the baton hasn't been picked up).

Rate: $279
Booked: King Hilton Deluxe Room
Received: King Executive (Not on the Exec Floor) which then became a King Relaxation Room

I've had numerous stays at this hotel and never really received a decent upgrade. Due to a cheap rate and lower than usual occupancy I thought I was in for a good shot.

Was told at check-in I'd been 'upgraded' to an executive room - I asked if there were any suites available, even a Nor1 upgrade and was told there was nothing available. At which point I mentioned that there were plenty of rooms I could book through the website. Was told he'd get back to me after 6pm.

I went to my 'executive' room which wasn't on the executive floor and was directly across from the lifts, even though my profile requests a room away from the lifts. So I went to the Executive Lounge and just thought I'd ask the question...sure enough the lovely lady on the desk made some calls and managed to get me a King Relaxation Room which I was very happy with!

For those of you who've been at the Hilton Sydney before, you'd know that the standard rooms aren't exactly spacious, so this upgrade was nice.

No other amenities or card from GM but beggars can't be choosers. I even managed to get a nice bath in whilst I was there.

Whilst I really appreciated the gesture and sincerely thanked the EL staff member, I do feel that there is a degree of warmth lacking from this property, all of my recent stays have been just OK, not great. Which is not something I'm used to at Hilton Hotels. IMHO.

Sad to see not much improved in this hotel since the last time I stayed there, which was long time ago.
I will stay there this Monday, only because the rate was cheaper then all SPG hotels in SYD. One thing I'm looking forward to is the "new" lounge look (new for me). I heard a lot of good things about it.

The lounge update was much needed and is great. It gets busy though!

The relaxation suite is a great upgrade - I've been lucky enough to get it once.
Sydney are so stingy with their upgrades and I just don't get it.
Many of us are repeat guests but all we get on check-in is "you've been upgraded to an executive room" - like we should be thrilled!

This is my favourite room type at Hilton SYD, I actually prefer it to the Relaxation suite or the higher category King Suite.
Perhaps we should all try to check-in at the Exec Lounge? ;)
