How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Diamond/Gold happy hour.......Conrad Rangali style . Sorry for the equatorial breeze noises... I'll add music when I work out how, but until then, I'll lie under a palm tree and not worry about it! ;)

A quick observation of mine is that anyone who suggests this place is not worth the money, has not been here. All I can say is........"when are we back".

EDIT....I'm on "Island Time" internet connection speed so I'm not sure how long this actually takes to load on real internet speeds.......please let me know!

Oh and our table.....

The photo from happy hour brings back so many happy memories :)
I must agree with you, this place worth every penny, need to be there to understand why...

My partner and I stayed here last month just before New Year's...... That said, Asakusa was a gorgeous area to stay in... much more atmospheric, at least over the New Year period.

have a great time!

Thanks for the recommendation. This is off-topic so will not make any more comment although a Hilton property recommendation thread would be a good idea for those planning trips to cities with several properties. I might start one soon.

I haven't visited this hotel for a long while. Quite impressed with the service, reminds me of the people at HotP. I had dinner at Adelphi for 2 nights. The lady that served me was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful with menu and recommendations. The newly renovated suite is really nice, loved the super comfy lounge chairs, only thing I would change is the bed - wished it was a real king instead of joined singles.

Amazes me how many upper end hotels use two singles pushed together, especially in suites. Surely two singles are not needed in that sort of room. Pleased to find our current hotel has an actual king.

Without wanting to hijack this thread, I realised I forgot a photo of the canapés.........to correct such an oversight, here is the Rangali style diamond/gold offering from tonight!

you must do the whale shark snorkeling!

Done it! Swam with two whale sharks!

The general manager introduced himself to us yesterday and thanked us for choosing Conrad Rangali. Let's face it, the choice was not too difficult to make!

I am totally green with envy, which is unlikely to subside, as far as I can see, in the immediate, mid & long terms.

I shall continue to buy my weekly Tatts ticket (with an extra Quickpick for megadraws) and hope.....

Just WOW!

I'd love to stay and chat, but following on from our morning massage in the award winning spa, I'm just heading out to snorkel the reef just metres from my front door, to build an appetite for tonight (starting of course with the coughtail hour at Vilu and then happy hour drinks at the Rangali bar). Tomorrow we're booked for lunch at Ithaa underwater restaurant (which in March this year was voted "most beautiful restaurant in the world" by NY Daily News and last year received a "certificate of excellence" by Trip Advisor). Tough life, but someone has to do it I guess! One day, I'll attempt to write a trip report but it's hard to describe this place. Even photos don't reproduce the sheer majesty of the island and the wonderful colours of the sea.

Ithaa is amazing! We only had coughtails there, probably should have lunch as well. Oh well, next time...
Do the wine cellar dinner (if you enjoy wine that is), it was the best dining experience we had on the island.

Thanks for rubbing it in. I don't like you

Glad you're enjoying it, Swanning.

I'm heading back later this year I think. Currently booked for early December, it's much less expensive when you only have to pay for 1! (Apart from room, which is on points, of course).

If I recall correctly, you were tossing up over the number of days. I really was worried 7 nights would be too long. I now know it's not. Enjoy your stay, I now also realise why you're keen to head back here so soon! ;)

He won't be laughing when he sees the bill at checkout;)

Don't even joke about that. I suggested to Lisa today we play who can guess the closest to the bill and her face just fell. Seconds later I was abused for wrecking her day . (I can do that without even trying).

Booked: Queen Deluxe Plus

Received: King Suite (x19)

I stepped out of the taxi straight into a hug with Jocelyn, the one person I know (Customer Service Manager). She checked me in and confirmed that I had already been upgraded across all my 3 bookings (1st booking at my expense, then Conference booking made by Corp TA for 3 nights, then another night at my expense). She was able to get me into the one Suite for all 5 nights. Then mentioned Princess Fiona's booking to her and she'll see what she can do for you PF. Look out for the blonde pocket rocket with a 15 year service badge.

The roomms have been refurbished since I was here last (April 14) and I've never been in a x19 room before (generally x21).

Seriously good:
