So pleased they have finally got rid of the old fashioned drab furniture.
The popcorn is a bit random - some choccies on the side would complement the nuts and apple much better.

I can't wait to get back as well! With HotP's demise, Parmelia Hilton PER is now the new benchmark for service in Oz. Will be staying at HSYD from tomorrow, hoping the upgrade gods are kind to me. QF WP, please extend my best wishes to Deidre. I think I was her first dining customer the evening they reopened on 13th and was most impressed with her service.

Funny thing though - checked with reception regarding type of breakfast before heading to the atrium next morning. Reception tapped away - answered your profile is set to 1000 points!?!? I just wanted to know if it was full or continental!?!? After more tapping the receptionist told me to go through and I will be looked after. Quoted room number and was ticked off.

For a $130 for the night - great intro to Carins. Staying hilton Friday night.

NB - pier bar happy hour very generous - night markets very random but hey a feed and a beer for $15 is hard to knock back.

The breakfast is a my-way benefit, the option of continental breakfast or 1000 points. Being worth at most 0.5c each, it is rarely worth it to get the points. The exceptions are in the USA where breakfast may be a Starbucks vouchers, and when your company is paying the bill,

Funny thing was I changed my preference to continental breakfast early last week in the profile settings for my stay at hilton cairns.. Just found it odd that the receptionist didn't notice my rate included breakfast in the first place..

Thanks for the report, staying at Hilton Cairns for first time Saturday-Tuesday. Not the best time of year to visit but couldn'y say no to $45 MEL-CNS fares!

When did the new boss start? I noticed about October last year as a gold my upgrades got 'nicer', still no suite yet, other then the King Junior suite which I must have been right place at the right time. About to hit diamond though!

At the lounge right now and just caught a glimpse of the GM on his way out of the lounge. Apparently he makes regular appearance to the exec lounge. I got one a few months ago (when I was still Blue)...rather random.

Just had a look at my gold card which expired 03/13 but still showing gold on the HH site.

To sign in I had to select all the pictures of bread from about 10 pictures...that's different
