Don’t beat about the bush – coffee shocking

I had worse than that in Asia but yea, it's pretty bad.

Still offering the nuts and olives with all drinks in Long Bar? They would need to as they seriously don’t miss with prices.

Still offering nuts and olives. They don't miss with prices but they do miss with vintages. One night ordered 2009 Nebbiolo and got 2014 vintage instead (they didn't say anything, assuming we won't notice). Quick google check showed price should be lower but they didn't agree to discount. I wanted to speak with the manager but +1 asked me not to make a fuss about it so just ordered something else instead.

I so meant to tell you about a fabuloius Italian restaurant just out the back and across street – Goodfellas – genuine Italian ownership and management – aint cheap but it is seriously good.

In China - eat Chinese.
In Australia - eat Italian

Nashville hilton downtown.

Booked standard room, got deluxe overlooking the Country Music Hall of Fame. Apparently Little Richie is living above us in the penthouse suite. All rooms look like small suites here but this is bigger than the standards rooms, the living room is very large.

Getting two bottles of water daily, which is much appreciated.

Lounge is ok, could be better but the evening canapés have been nice. They were our dinner last nice before we headed out.

wow what had you booked initially?

I booked an exec room as a HHD. They gave me the same room saying I got upgraded, I said it's the same room! No suites available but the presidential one so they gave me that one. It's more of service recovery rather than a typical upgrade but I'll take it!

Booked: King
Received: King

Two bottles of water which were replaced up on second day; newspaper first morning, nothing second.

Check-in was decidedly meh. No "we have your number on file", "welcome to DT" or "thanks for your loyalty" expressions.

Breakfast was pleasant, but coffee tax enforced.

Very average, at least HH SYD pretend.

Arrived in the room to find this:

A 10th stay certificate, A whole tin of DT cookies (as if I really need that, but +1 and - 1's will enjoy) and a reusable coffee mug (now that I can use)!

As usual, staff very good, especially a lovely Korean trainee in the bar. Her personality was absolutely wonderful and I truly hope she enjoys her stay in Oz!

Thanks DT-CNS ... a very nice gesture!

I was just reading the paraphernalia with the coffee mug and saw this ...

I think I might just wander down and ask (in true Basil Fawlty style) for some lashings of hot Glühwein and see what they say! ... in Cairns!

Does anyone tip in a US Hilton lounge? I never have before, haven't seen it done before but I'm seeing it at Nashville this week.

I have tipped in Houston (Clear Lake). Service from the young lady there (on her own, quite crowded) was excellent so certainly warranted a tip. Have not tipped everywhere though (Miami and Boston come to mind as very poor lounges)

Hilton Sydney
Friday
Diamond
Paid: King Plus $215 (booked on Thursday)
Received: King Executive

Check-in was extremely pleasant and professional. After a long wait, the agent appeared frustrated from the previous guest but that changed immediately after (I assume) noticing our Diamond status. The lounge had a great spread at 7pm - fish, pizza, treats, wine, etc, and wasn't too busy. Glass for breakfast was excellent and again, not too busy. The only downside was the very poor internet connection in our room but as I needed a day away from work, I wasn't too bothered. I haven't stayed here for years as I used to live in Sydney but as I now that I live in the ACT I think I will be returning often - especially with South Wharf no longer.

Has anyone booked Conrad Tokyo and know if booking a twin suite at
¥37,044
per night excluding taxes is worth it? Boomy got the below 2016 50% flash sale but I have no idea if I would get an upgrade to a suite or if there will be another 50% flash sale soon.. the advertised rrp rate for the room is 54000yen per night so its almost a 40% sale atm.
I haven't been checking conrad tokyo prices long enough to make a non refundable booking, only notice as there was a post on flyertalk.
Property: Conrad Tokyo
Rate: ¥21,000 or $AU270 (50% sale exclude taxes)
Booked: King Room City View
Received: King Suite Bay View

Conrad Tokyo is outstanding and the price you got is actually very good. If you can also take advantage of the recent $100 offer then you got yourself a nice deal.
Suites in Tokyo will rarely get any cheaper then that.

Could anyone PM me if they see Hilton Sydney midweek for $200 or less for anytime after May 7th?
I stay up weekly but can never track down cheap deals....would like to retain diamond but when paying myself stick to Travelodge or airbnb

Thanks in advance
