How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

HOTP this week. i arrived late evening. no water, no welcome note, no fruit.. first visit for several years, after reading posts here i thought i'd give it another go - forgot how tiny the bathrooms were. no vouchers for internet ( wasn't told i needed vouchers until i checked out early next morning!!) lounge breakfast incredibly average. HSW wins hands down

Why would you need a voucher for the internet? I've always just plugged in and used it.

I stayed in a few rooms there and haven't had a small bathroom yet? Must be lucky in that regard.

Wireless?

In any case, if you are a HH Gold or Diamond, you are entitled to free internet. If it appears on the folio at checkout, you should be able to request to have the charges removed.

Vouchers would only be required if that was the normal mode of using the internet at that property. I've noticed this more at international properties (they register your room and name against a voucher code which you then use; if you don't have a voucher, even if you are a guest you cannot straight out use the internet, because your details must be registered into the system). I don't believe any Hilton property in Australia or New Zealand has this kind of system.

In Sweden I was given a voucher, in Poland I was just told to use my room number + Surname and in various locations around the UK so far I've just been given a password to type into the portal (generic, doesn't seem to change... maybe every few years).

Hilton FIji
HH Diamond
Booked: Cheapest room for 7 nights on Great Getaway rate. (Studio beachfront?)
Received: 1 bedroom deluxe beachfront (no plunge pool)
Plus water (everyone gets these), free internet in room, free breakfast- full, at either restaurant
Invitation to managers drinks on Wed night.

Ditto for me! Also got some 1000 bonus point dining vouchers which I had to hand in....and generally forgot. Will see if the points appear. Got the invite for Managers drinks but didn't make it...was it good?

Doubletree Old Town Istanbul-given a voucher for everyday each with a different log in and password.Annoying.

Ahh - now I understand about wifi at HOTP. At HSW it is just "bill to the room" and then it generally doesnt appear on the bill.

Have to say I am very impressed with HSW. I have a great getaway prepaid booking (work trip) followed the next day by a two day award (family trip) and I originally had a standard rate booking for the work trip ($100 more that I would have to pay personally). They had previously arranged for both the standard rate and award to be in a two room suite. They have now (at my request) cancelled the standard rate room and put my great getaway night into a two room suite as well.
Never had a voucher system at a Hilton previously . Weird

Had vouchers for wifi in the UK earlier this year, but it all seems to have changed to last name and room number log ins now.

I've had vouchers in Cairns but that was to access the business centre computers. Needed a different voucher every 20mins (?) or so I think as I went through a few of them but it was no issue in getting them supplied. It was that stay that I decided to join HH....the Cairns business centre saved me a fortune in copying and printing costs if I were to use a commercial facility and it was all free of charge (including internet access).

Hmm, this might help me make some decisions about hotels in Tokyo in December. Thank you. I was thinking of the Conrad, but might not now.
