How long for complimentary hotel status to come through

I had 4 hotel stays in the US planned for the coming 4 weeks so was also keen to get the status upgrade and move my booking to Hilton...

Called Velocity today, was told it should be "instant" upgrade... I explained, no change to my HH account..
She said all you have to do is show your velocity card to get the benifits... I kindly explained that most Hilton properties wouldn't have a clue what or who velocity is so could she confirm when my HH account would update...

When she came back she said possibly up to two weeks turnaround but had asked it to be expedited in my case and said 24-48 hours.
So... if you are in a rush, perhaps a call to expedite might help...
I’ll report back if it works..

Also, not sure how useful only 6 months status is... without it being tied to a challenge... If anyone hears of any please share..
 
Have just spoken to IHG Priority Club.

After a few "can I put you on hold sir" along with "we dont have Virgin Australia as a partner, just Virgin Blue", from what I could understand, they have some details of my request and are now waiting for more information from VA which will take "2-3weeks from when you submitted your application".

Not holding my hopes for it to come through before my stay on Thursday :(

I called velocity to check about the AHG Priority Care match. They told me it will be a 2 week turn around time, but they may try and see if it can be turned around quicker.
 
Thanks for the input guys - I have a stay in 2 weeks (tomorrow is the [insert awful hotel here] and the next night away is at a Hyatt followed by a Hilton the next day on 23 Sep so timing should be ok - I will be calling anyway though...

Not the Hotel status yet, but I received an email from Europcar today stating my tier upgrade would be completed as soon as I update my privilege profile (which I did last week-end).

She then stated my status upgrade would occur within 10 working days!
 
Complimentary promotions not yet activated?

Well, this is what i found!

Called Velocity platinum, and enquired about the complimentary platinum elite membership with IHG PC. They told me that someone will be in touch with me within 7 days from the day i selected the promotion. I told them that there are number of us waiting from the day of launch and have not been contacted by IHG or HHonors.

The lady offered to contact the person incharge of the new promotion and find out what was happening, while i was on hold. I was on hold for about 10 minutes.

All of a sudden a different lady answered the phone. I asked who she was, and she said she was from Malaysia and was the one looking after that promotion. (The original lady i was talking to was from Brisbane. She had accidentaly disconnected herself and connected me to the other lady).

Anyway, i asked the question that a number of us are waiting to be contacted by IHG PC and HHonors and have had no luck. She then said this is a new promotion and it has not yet been activated. She then proceeded to say, it will be atleast one month before it is activated.

I asked her, why velocity rewards have offered it to its customers if it has not yet been activated? There was no reply, and she disconnected the line.

The called again which went back to the local agent, and luckily the same agent i talked to before. She was shocked that the other lady said it was not activated. She said she will follow up and also gave me a call later on to say, it should be around 7 working days.

We will have to wait and see.

Whilst I know that you specifically referred to the 2 hotel programmes I can confirm that I got my Hertz notification yesterday, nothing from Hilton yet. My friend who was Status matched got their Hiltton Diamond last week, albeit only 6 months upgrade.

I can confirm Europcar contacted me yesterday requesting I update my Europcar privilege details so my upgrade can be effected (within 10 business days). The email also gave me a direct contact number and name of the programme co-ordinator.

Nothing as of yet from HH or Secure Sentinel.

Also of note, I applied on Sunday 28 Aug. but the request wasn't processed by DJ until Wed 31 Aug. so in reality, it's only been a week since they would have received my DJ verified request.

Really? I got the Secure Sentinal first ages ago... Signed up to the Hertz one yesterday but nothing from Hilton, i'm not too worried there as I won't be staying anywhere Hilton for a few months, the longer the better as I will get my 4 stays needed over Christmas.

My friend who was Status matched got their Hiltton Diamond last week, albeit only 6 months upgrade.

The Hilton match is only meant to be for 6 months. If you stay 4 times in the first 6 months it gets extended to 12 months.

Called Velocity and spoke to very friendly [insert name here] who said I should call Hilton Honors.

Called Hilton HHonors and [insert name2 here] initially had no idea what I was talking about so he put me on hold and called his peeps. Eventually came back and said he had found the Virgin Australia Diamond offer in the system and it was an instant upgrade but he had no record of me being registered so suggested I call Virgin again.

Called Velocity back and got through to [insert name here] again who put me on hold whilst she called Kuala Lumpur as they had recently brought everything back from KL recently so they didnt know all the ins and outs. When she came back she said that as soon as you click on the benefit request link that should send an invite to HHonors and they have no contact with the process after that. She said it should take 21 days to come through but she is off now doing some more digging for me (my HHonors number might have been typed in wrongly by me for instance).

Further update to come later I guess...

I have had the same problem with IHG. Velocity say that IHG have told them it will be updated soon, and IHG say they are waiting for velocity to reply about the membership verification. It seems that no one we talk to know anything about the actual contacts for the program. They all seem to be reading from a paper, that seems to say what needs to happen; but unfortunately that is not what is happening. These things happen during a new program / partnership, it should be ironed out in the coming weeks.

I got a similar email exactly 2 weeks ago today........still waiting. (same time as both other emails for Europcar and Secure Sentinal......Europcar is the only one to contact me so far).

Hilton HHonors™ will be in contact with you shortly to complete your membership.

That was on the website. I received a confirmation email a few minutes later which is identical to swanning_it.

did get an email, noting my selection for HHD... , benefit has also disappeared from my account - maybe indicating has been used?
