How long for complimentary hotel status to come through

My elevation to the Diamond peerage has come through after 11 working days. Thanks Virgin and Hilton.:p I guess I am on the plus side compared with others here. I now have stays booked in Rome Airport, Barbados, Miami Airport, Waikiki and Sydney over the next 8 weeks. Looking forward to it. Is there any point in taking the upgrade offers they make at the time of booking?

I've applied on August 29, and I've just received my Diamond Hilton HHonors card. Expiration date: 03/2013!

So seems like its confirmed all HHDi Va members who opted in got an expiry of 3/2013

Just wonder what if VA decides to enforce

T&C pt 4. Gold and Platinum members who enrol into a car hire program or hotel program as outlined in clause 3(a) and (b), will receive a minimum of 12 months complimentary enrolment in the program from the date of their enrolment in the program, excluding enrolment by Platinum members into the Hilton Diamond Elite Level which is 6 months complimentary membership (Complimentary Elite membership). Do you think they can downgrade you on let say the 8th Month, If not I would have to self fund 1 stay to be certain on retaining as the rest would fall outside

I just got my welcome pack and after the packs I got from QF andDJ/VA I am quite underwhelmed - just a basic letter and a card...

mine has been moving at glacial speeds since applying - I don't know if that was because I was a high earning HH Gold already? My Diamond upgrade came through the day before flying to the US 2 weeks ago (phew), I don't know when to expect the card...

Just got an email elevating me to Diamond also (VA email recd 13 Oct) from didly squat.

No sign of any card though!!

Just received an email from Hilton informing me of my Gold status. I took two weeks from applying. I was previously not even a member.

Still waiting one month on. and i was already hhonors silver. Hmmm...

Just received my HH Diamond card in the mail. Took about 7 weeks. Did email VFF Platinum desk to assist. Thanks guys. Well done. Now time to book a few double SC flights during the extended time window.

Big inconsistencies here. No contact, no pack, but my status was updated over 2 weeks ago on my account page, and I logged the request back in Sept.

I guess the status itself is what counts, not the card. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

I have to say that I have never been asked to produce my HHonors card at the hotel. Even when offered, it is waved away and I'm advised that they have my profile in the computer. All I do is to say that I have a booking for DC3. So, you'll probably never need it anyway.

Yeah, exactly. Same with Hyatt and Starwood IMO. Of course it helps to have your number handy in case it is lost (once recently my Hyatt Diamond number was dropped off my booking between check-in and check-out!)

Well made a request yesterday for the Hilton offer through DJ, soon after I got an email saying it would take about 20 working days.

That would be perfect for next year's FT SIN DO.

As a VFF HH Diamond, where do I find my expiry date? I have checked out every link on the HH web site that I could find.

There is some evidence to suggest that it will fit into the normal HH year.

That is earning year is the calendar year but the expiry is the end of March.

It's not on the web (as far as I can see), but apparantly it's on the membership card or you telephone/email HH and ask!! Seems an odd oversight not to list it on the web along with your stays/nights but I guess they believe everyone knows the dates......earn during the calendar year, expiry or tier drop (as determined by your previous years stays/nights) end of March or an effective three month grace period.

Have also just received my HH card and also has an expiry date of 03/2013, does this mean that I don't require the 4 stays in 6 months to get the full year - anyone have confirmation?

Thanks

Thats the million dollar question so to speak, frankly if your not going to have 4 stays in the 6 months its probably a wasted resource in the first place!

Yearly travel varies considerably, and I try to not be away a lot over the summer period, travel mostly in our winter so hoped it would still be available from mid - if not no big issue.
