Okay a basic question but a quick look here and QF didn't help..
So booking say MEL-AKL-MEL on EK operated aircraft, but booked on qantas.com on say QF8762 in J or F
Do I earn SCs and points as per if I was traveling on QF metal ?
concur ... In this and most other cases, the QF flight number is the important part.Yes, points and SC's.
Status credits are earned on EK metal only when the flight is QF marketed. So a QF flight number will earn SC, an EK flight number will just earn points.

I knocked up a spreadsheet to calculate points and status credits for QF flight numbers. You just need to input the mileage of the leg, your status and seat class. There is also an option for a DSC offer.
It is only accurate for QF flight numbers since I have included the status bonus and cabin bonus as per QF rules.
Hopefully, it is helpful and I guess if demand was there, I could probably extend it to include non-QF flight numbers.
I've updated the spreadsheet to include 3 legs, to help with working out how beneficial those JASAs are, and also a lookup to give you the number points required for the direct leg of a roundabout JASA. For distances, you just copy certain cells into your web browser and hit enter and it loads up the result. You have to use the IATA three letter codes for airports for it to work though.
i think you need a new spreadsheet
and this thread just got a whole lot complicated with 2 lots of rules and transitional arrangements!
Ok, I've had a crack at this. Consider the attached to be an early beta version .
It only does the QF regions at the moment and does not include the catch all, distance based table. You need to select the corresponding region. I'm wondering about the value (and my sanity) of building it such that the user enters the 3 letter airport code and the spreadsheet automatically works out which, if any, region it is in.
One thing I am unsure of and can't find any solid documentation is how the cabin bonus is calculated. I have done it based on the full base points, not the pegged back to Flex Y base points as per the status bonus.
All comments, positive or negative welcome.
The way I read it the cabin bonus must be included in the base points. :?:
thanks for the beta...

That appears to be the case.
