re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

Can you do the booking on the Qantas site to see if they have a code share flight with Finnair? Also, are you stopping in SIN, or transiting through? From what I learnt about SC, if you are flying on some one else's metal, you need the QF code share to qualify for SC. As you will be in QF for the SIN-SYD leg, you should get the SC ok for this leg

Not quite true. So long as the code is a OW airline, in this case AY, you will earn SCs, just not at the full rate. It will be the cr4ppy partner earn rates.

I expect I would transit through SIN. So even though the SIN-SYD flight shows an AY flight number, because it is on Qantas metal the SC earn will be at the full rate instead of the discounted partner rate?

No, the status credit earn rate is dependent on the airline code that appears on your ticket, not the metal operating the flight. If your ticket shows your flight with an AY flight number you will earn status credits at the (reduced) partner airline rate.

Thank you for clarifying.

Sorry Mr_Orange I did not see your earlier reply.
