This is the page that dispenses with any need for spreadsheets authored by AFF OPs. Works like a dream albeit not all airlines loaded (AA, BA, EK, QF, yes). Can anyone extract it into Excel so it can be used offline and tailored further (e.g. DSC)?

Tell me about it. I like the new calculator but was somewhat deflated when I realised there was no longer a need to complete my own spreadsheet version.

I managed to extract all the city data into spreadsheet, which was probably the largest task left in completing my version. I haven't done anything with it though. The QF calculator actually has the intelligence to only list airlines that fly particular routes which is good.

Could it be a little 'off' ?
HEL to SIN is greater distance yet earns less SC vs HEL to BKK or have I missed something ?

I would love it to be right, as I have a leg booked HEL-BKK in April - but I fear it is not correct. I am pretty sure that when all the dust settles HEL-SIN, HEL-HKG and HEL-BKK will all have the same SC earn of 80sc.

P.S. Of course 120SC is the "old" earn so very hard to believe it would not have been "enhanced".

Nope not 120 ... but was 140. So even worse then. And QF don't fly BKK to HEL (nor the other routes below) yet we get slammed for wanting to fly that route.
Here are some samples:

re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

<snip>
One thing I am unsure of and can't find any solid documentation is how the cabin bonus is calculated. I have done it based on the full base points, not the pegged back to Flex Y base points as per the status bonus.

The way I read it the cabin bonus must be included in the base points. :?:

That appears to be the case.

I'm waiting for the partner airline points earn info - will there continue to be a status bonus on AA flights for example?

So I've finally had to confront the new earning rates/structure when I found this posted in my account:

View attachment 34494

So I gather the thoughts quoted above are correct - there is no longer any explicit 'cabin bonus' stated; its included in the base earn? (I have trawled the QF site and also the "Heads up about program changes" thread, but couldn't see anything explicit about this.)

Also, re the 'status bonus' . This is said to be calculated on the Flexible Economy earn rate and is 100% for Plats. So if this is the Flexible Economy earning:

View attachment 34495

.. should I have earned 18,000 for the Status bonus rather than the 9,000 posted?

Lastly, can anyone explain in the following (from the 'Partner Earn' table) what's meant by 'Excluded: Points are not earned on Code share flights operated by an airline other than Qantas', please. It sounds like they are saying that only codeshares on QF metal earn points (in which case its not a code share??), but then that would make this part of the table redundant. Note that the '1' refers to 'base rate' and the 50% refers to 'cabin bonus' - which appears to survive for partners?

How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights?

RooFlyer, I read the status bonus as 100% of the flex economy base rate points added onto the amount earned (I.e not taking status into account), not twice that, so I would assume 9000 points is correct.

It means that an AS code share on another airline that is not QF, does not earn points. Or, to put it another way, you earn points on an AS marketed/operated flight and on an AS marketed/QF operated flight and nothing else.

Is that just for Alaska Airlines though?
I have flights booked on American Airlines, that are operated by US Airways (who are now a One World partner themselves)
Does anyone know if I'll earn Qantas SC on these flights?

Should do. But you will need to check the fare class against the earning fares in the airline earning table here: Frequent Flyer - Discover & Join - Terms and Conditions
USairways right at the bottom, it states that points and status credits are earned on codeshares operated by oneworld airlines. The AA table does not exclude earning on Codeshares, if I'm reading it correctly.

re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

Perth - Auckland direct is 7,200 points and 100 Status credits

but

Perth - Melbourne - Auckland is 8,763 points and 160 Status credits

$15 extra P-M-A and 2 hours extra flight time is it worth it for the extra 60 status credits?

I think so

I'd do it. SC's are hard to come by these days.

re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

Just checking I've calculated everything correctly for an up coming trip. QFF service center didn't get it correct when I asked last month (I wasn't suprised!)

MIGHT try to get a Europe flight (cheapish) to earn some SC, then the remaining (need 90 SC total) will be tried through local cheap deals before December.

re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

Can anyone confirm what QF codeshares on TN earn? After being stiffed on some QF codeshares on 3K recently I remembered I've got some codeshares booked to Tahiti just after Christmas. We are flying QF8762 MEL-AKL EK Metal B Class, then QF3815 AKL-PPT TN metal B class, QF3818 PPT-AKL Tn metal S class, then QF154 AKL-MEL V class. I couldnt find TN in the partner tables at all! Don't tell me that means these are non-earning!? The only one I'm confident we would get something is the last one as its not a code share, I guess we are ok with EK as well?

re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

The ONLY caveats with QF flight numbers in revenue booking classes relate to Jetstar metal.

Not sure about TN. EK will earn SCs so long as it is a QF code. An EK code is points only but no SCs.

Thanks Serfty, I feel better now :)

re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

Hope I can ask the following question here ...

If I'm flying Emirates, from Sydney to Istanbul, via Dubai ( with a QF number ) on the 22nd. April ( arriving at destination 23rd. April ) ...
and my QFF Membership year ends on 30th. April ...
will I gain the SC for either a day / few days ... and then LOSE them, when the new Member year starts on 1st. May ??
Continuing on ...
Same scenario, but flying back to Sydney, via a London stop-over, departing Istanbul on 28th. April, but not getting back to Sydney until well into May ...
For the total return trip, it totals to 300 SC.
Do I need to ring and 'beg' them to allow me the whole 300 ( Silver ) for the next year ... or it's just not going to happen ??

It's not going to happen. If your year ends on 30th April all status credits earned up until then will be wiped on May 1 and you will start from scratch again. This will also apply even if there's a delay in crediting flights to your account.
I'm not aware of any circumstances where QF have allowed a member to carry SC forward.

re: How to Calculate Points/SC's for Qantas flights? [Pre "Simpler & Fairer"]

Thanks for that advice.
At least I'll know where I stand then ...
