Not exactly points related, but received an offer to add a supplementary card for 5% cashback (up to $50 after $1000 spend on the additional card). Mrs Aus ATC doesn't have one of these (she uses mine), so why not.
Free supplementary card?

mrs andye has this card and is now on her 2nd extension of a balance tranfer (now over 3 years since opened). She received the offer of a free supp with cashback. Wont be taking up (the points earn on the non-QF version is ordinary and the need to convert to VF in large chunks is irritating for a card without multiple options)

Anyone know if there is a current offer on this card. Qantas site states 60K for HSBC Platinum however HSBC page that the link takes you to does not mention any bonus points when applying

From what I can see, the Qantas site doesn’t mention any bonus. Just that the first year is annual fee free.

I can't see any mention of bonus points on the Qantas site as you suggest:

'HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card
  • Up to 1 point per dollar spent#
  • Complimentary insurance package
  • 0% p.a. Balance Transfer for 12 months
$0first year fee
$79 p.a. thereafter**'

From what I can see there is no current bonus point offering for this card.

Note that the annual fee for this card used to be $199. I suspect that with the reduction in annual fee has come a removal of the bonus point offer.

I can't see any offer of 60K pts in the link above.

Link was from here:

Special Offers - Frequent Flyer Deals | Qantas Points

Clearly states:

'Earn 60,000 bonus points'

and:

'HSBC Platinum Qantas credit card: 60,000 bonus Qantas Points offer is available to new HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card holders who spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within three months of card approval. Bonus points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within two months of the minimum spend being met. Eligible purchases exclude business expenses, interest free promotions, interest free merchant purchases, balance transfers and cash advances.'

This was flagged earlier this month by @nickfromeastryde in #327

I see that....But when you click on the banner and get to the HSBC page, there is no mention of the 60K pts.
But this:

''HSBC Platinum Qantas credit card: 60,000 bonus Qantas Points offer is available to new HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card holders who spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within three months of card approval. Bonus points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within two months of the minimum spend being met. is included with the original offer.

Unless they’ve improved their app and website I don’t think any points offer is enough to pull me back to HSBC. They make BOQ look functional and user friendly which is a tall order...

I jumped on this ambiguous HSBC bandwagon early, and it was recently approved and I have my card,

is there a way to confirm that I will receive bonus points? , as people on OZB have got confirmation it is a genuine promo

will keep the card regardless but dont want to go through the hassle of meeting minimum spend all for zero benefit

The offer has expired. This has been confirmed by HSBC:

Expired Deals - HSBC Platinum VISA 60,000 QFF points for $0

It would therefore be impossible to confirm that you would get the points as HSBC deny the existence of the offer. Qantas is a third party promoter. They can guarantee nothing.
