Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

My points posted when I received my first statement, so after 4 weeks. The QC passes were posted within one week of first purchase.

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

yo yo ma. OK. Thanks. That's good to hear that they post promptly, seeing as how the T&C says to allow 2 months.

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

They have always posted each month when the statement has been sent... I think they are just giving themselves extra time in case?

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

Don't see the appeal in this when you can get 30k through Qantas Union and the fee is lower.

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

The appeal is probably that you can buy points with this card at <1c each ... ie; 199$ / 20,000 = 0.995c/point + 2 free QP passes. Its one of those churn cards. Buy it and the points that come with it, nab the QP passes and cancel the card before renewal.

30K through QFCU is free (I think) for the first year but takes 5 months for the points to fully post ... according their website. Go for both, reap 50K points, pay $199 and get the free QP's. The QFCU CC after all is no stunner either, performance wise, and I'd cancel it before the free year was up.

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

I have just applied for this card. Unless I am misreading the offer the attraction to me is two points for every dollar spent on overseas purchases.

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

Yes definitely 2 points per dollar from overseas merchants but there is a 3 percent conversion fee from memory. Capped at 300,000 points pa.

Excellent. It will become my business expense card for overseas trips. ;)

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

Can the OP please change thread title for a revised expiry date?
I know this is merely my laziness but I almost overlooked this thread as the titled stated a 31/03 expiry. Just had a look at the HSBC link posted in first thread and looks like this offer has been extended to 30/6 expiry.
Thanks for informing of this offer in the first place..... I'll likely apply... just strongly considering whether I want to pay $199 for a card. Have always refused in the past!

Just sell the two QP passes on ebay you should get somewhere between $100 and $150. Chuck in a couple of pairs of J pyjamas and amenity bags and you'll cover the price of the card.

Can someone please confirm this as I have read 2% on some sites and 3% on others. If someone has this card and has charged a foriegn amount on it can comment please with their experinces.

I am looking at getting back into the QF rewards program and it is this card or the Citibusiness Gold card with its 1.25 points per $ spent. Just need an Amex card for the 1.5 points for those that take Amex without an extra fee. Any suggestions?

Update- Just realised I have paying 3% anyway with my BankSA/St George CC.

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

Definitely 3percent. Just checked my latest statement. That is why they can afford to give you 2 points for every dollar spend I assume.

HSBC Platinum Qantas credit card is 3%.

(The HSBC Premier with Qantas Rewards, a different card, is 2%)

HSBC Platinum Qantas credit card is 3%.

That is fine as that is what Im currently paying with BankSA without the points. Now which 1.5 Amex card to go for?

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

anyone got their bonus 20,000 pts yet? I received this card early April and have already had my first statement and made payments..... the QP passes came about 3 weeks ago in the mail and the monthly points from usage have been posted but no bonus :(

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

20,000 points were part of the first monthly points for me

Re: HSBC Qantas Platinum - 20,000 points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee until 31/03

just a follow up, my second statement finished over night and this morning i had my 20,000 + monthly spend points credited to QFF. nice

I received an invitation to apply for this card. I'm not sure if I should.

Re: HSBC QF Platinum - 20K points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee [extended] to 30/0

the only thing i dislike about this card is the lack of visa's paywave.... seems ridiculous that a "platinum" card in this day and age misses such feature ??

Re: HSBC QF Platinum - 20K points (+2 QP passes) - $199 Annual Fee [extended] to 30/0

Anyone with a Woolies card applied for this one? did you get your points? I'm not sure given the T&C's about previous HSBC cards. I have a Woolies card too.
