I've eaten at the Golden Arches DH when I've been running late, but never enjoyed it.

I did enjoy the mushroom omlette this morning at the Hi Potts Point.

CP Newcastle

Booked: Standard room
Received: Upgrade to the Executive Floor and welcome letter. I say upgrade, but the room are the same as every other floor, the only difference is a sign that says "Executive Floor". I didn't see anything special that made this an upgrade. I could be missing something though.

The drinks during coughtail hour and the free breakfast?

There was no mention or evidence of a free breakfast or a coughtail hour.

Sounds like poor service:

1 QUEEN CITY EXECUTIVE FLOOR NONSMOKING
LOCATED ON THE EXECUTIVE FLOOR OVERLOOKING NEWCASTLE CITY SKYLINE WITH HIGH SPEED INTERNET ROOM FACILITIES INCLUDE SEPARATE LIVING AREA IN HOUSE MOVIES FULL MINIBAR AND BATHROBES EVENING DRINKS AND CANAPE SERVICE AND BREAKFAST INCLUDED ROLLAWAY BED AVAILABLE AT CHARGE

From memory the "lounge" is the hallway adjacent to the lifts on the second highest floor, I was there when Bush invaded Sydney and it was chockers with people trying to escape. The return flight home from NTL was interesting , with fully armed F18's landing that were patrolling in Sydney, it was odd to see them pull to one side of the runway without exiting to have their missiles "safed"!

That being said, there have been reports of PC hotels (Mal's stays come to mind) where upgrade to Exec Floor is given, but no club/lounge access.

Crowne Plaza Newcastle

08/05/09-10/05/09
Booked - Queen room with city view on 5,000 point break
Allocated - Queen room on executive floor (4th floor)

Notes - executive lounge access and free breakfast included.

Flashware, I am well aware of the other hotel reports where upgrades to club level are given without club access, however I was referencing also the earlier reports such as Johns above where benefits were given at the specific hotel including lounge and breakie, and that was on a pointsbreak award!

The purpose of this thread is to give others an idea of what they can expect, so they can follow up and inquire if its not received, while not guaranteed it never hurts to ask! The lounge is not secured at CP Newcastle and they just make sure your room number is on the right floor, so I would have been surprised if the benefits were not available, to be frank its not something I would be paying for as the quality was not great!

Crowne Plaza Cuaseway Bay, Hong Kong

24/02/10

Staff are really friendly here and as I type this a bowl of fruit has just arrived.
