Was acknowledged as a PC Gold member and presented with a print out of my up to date points balance. overall a great experience and in a great location. I'll almost certainly be choosing the CP over the IC in Adelaide in the future!

.

How long ago were you there? Having just checked out....

Stay Days: In Friday/ Out Sunday
Status: Gold
Hotel: Crowne Plaza Adelaide
Booked: Standard Queen
Rate Type: Weekend Special AP (incl of breakfast)
Received: Exactly what I booked. Late checkout offered but not required.
Welcome Amenities: None.

Newspaper at bedroom door both days. Got a free 30minute internet voucher (which is for all guests upon request from reception).

Overall I was impressed with the decor/amenities, but there staff were very un-engaged (at reception / concierge) although the restaurant staff were very attentive. No recognition of Gold Status which was disappointing. Will try and post some pics when I get home and can get them off the iphone.

Holiday Inn, Darling Harbour.

With the rebranding of the CP, I tried this property for the first time in four years.

I cannot envisage that I will ever return to it.

Yeesh - that bad, eh? Or just plain boring HI? Any details?

Bad stay -
  • One thing that should have been fixed during the stay, but had to go through ICH guest relations to rectify (well not so much rectified as refunded).
  • An additional charge to my CC post stay - that I had to get reversed.
(Two separate refunds for two different things)

PC Hotels that recognise status

Wow, a totally different experience than I've ever had there.

Once the CP's rates moved out of my price range about 2 years ago, HI has been getting my business. Never had any issues, friendly staff at FOH, upgrades (even as Gold).

TonyHancock, that's the kind of outcome I've come to expect from the Hilton Airport, not the HI. Time to escalate

Pathetic. Howmuch parking do you get?

The HI looks like something built during the cold war.

The airport is 40 years old and the HI is built in the style of all Travelodges at the time, it had a big refurb two years ago.

TBH I can't be bothered. I should really, it was pretty poor.

As straitman posted it is seven days.

It is not as bad on the inside as it looks from the outside. I remember staying there when it was a Centra hotel.

The stay was my first as PC Platinum. :(

Oh well, in just over a week it is the Holiday Inn, Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton, UK, my international jet setting knows no bounds. :)

Send a fax to the GM And let him know who you are and when you will be arriving.

The staff were friendly enough, and I was recognised as a platinum member, so they got that bit right. Now, while as far as PC status goes the recognition at check-in was as far as it went. But that is neither here nor there in the scheme of things.

Status: Platinum
Hotel: Holiday Inn Townsville
Booked: 1 King Bed Superior
Received: 1 Executive Suite
Welcome Amenities: Welcome letter and bottle of wine.

I also had a very friendly welcome from the girl at the front desk, recognising my platinum status and welcoming me back. I was upgraded last week as well but not to this room..

I've got a lounge room with a 6 seat dining table, couch sink and a spa in the bathroom. Pity I am only here for 1 night!
