We had dinner in Red Salt restaurant, and placed account on room bill.
Next morning, told 'someone has paid your account for you' ( $300. )
You don't need to pay anything !!

Person used my room number and name. I suspect it was someone who knew exactly what I was doing in Canberra that day.

Spent last two nights at IC Double Bay.

Really quiet here … Unfortunately, pool & roof top lounge closed.

Stayed on AMB Weekend Cert.

Water is in refillable glass bottles. As many as requested from Room Service.

600 Rewards Points as Amenity. $25. credit for Room Service, in lieu of no restaurant open.

Paid for Twin Courtyard Room … upgraded to Twin Bayside Room with accessible balcony. Stayed with my kids for the weekend.

Room TV was in use constantly for PlayStation games & NETFLIX movies ( no charge ).

Got away for a couple of nights and had the first hotel stay since I came home from my last o/s trip back in January, before the world came undone! Nice upgrade and a good stay. Breakfast was a la carte (1 cold and 1 hot choice, plus unlimited coffee/tea/juices), and all of a good standard.

Fun fact: The Wallabies team were in residence there (basically living there for the international tournament season - training in Cessnock), and it was a bit of a buzz bumping into the fellas here and there, around the resort.

Was dropping off mstr ande2 to start Uni. Driving a removal truck so no room to park but directed to Olympic Pool carpark which was cheaper

Came back from Bamiyan restaurant (good Afghan) and we fancied G&Ts but bar closed at 1030. Wine and beer only available through room service but we were directed to the Casino for spirits. There is an entrance directly from the hotel (you still need to join the queue though). Enjoyed our hour there-felt brighter than other Australian casinos I've visited

I did check on the Indigo for when we might be in Adelaide but even with the opening special rates it was dearer than the IC so gave it a pass.

First time at this hotel, was nice, not a fan of the bathrooms without a solid door, great view up the Yarra (pic below) not much time spent inside as we had a full itinerary for the weekend, comment from staff was the hotel was very busy, it did seem that way when we travelled through the lobby a few times.

Was offered a 2-bed villa on enquiring about upgrades... however SWMBO preferred to stay in the main building for this stay, rather than a villa. No other recognition or benefits. Rollaway for the little master requested in booking, but not supplied until followed up.

Nothing else to talk of really - nice enough stay, and a great rate for this large suite... just out from school breaking up.

Their newly constructed water park by the pool was lots of fun for our boy and he pretty much had the run of the place at this quiet time, but I can imagine it would be a bit of a nightmare for all in the middle of holidays with a million kids running about screaming!

Nice review! The parking/drop off situation is annoying, especially for a brand new chain hotel. I'll have a hire car and a mother with mobility issues who won't be able to walk anywhere, so I (or a rideshare car) will be using that 'no standing' zone a lot!

The hotel itself looks really nice. We've booked a twin mountain view, but looks like a city view might be quieter? I'm also IHG Platinum so not sure if we'll get an upgrade to a Club floor or not.

There is a sandwich board sign on the left side kerb now for the drop off parking. When I stayed there was also a concierge just inside the door, so I think if you call them when you pick up the car and maybe on approach, they might meet you at the kerb.

Liverpool street is narrow, busy and one way, so it’ll be a slow approach!

Most mountain view rooms should be OK for noise - just specify NOT above the bar terrace.

I should add ... not sure if the “Bathurst street car park” is one of the ones they use, but if so, avoid it. Gets very congested on exiting. The Market Place car park I think is closest and your best bet.

I just had 4 nights in a suite at the new Crowne Plaza in Hobart.

Club lounge is nicely designed and the evening canapes are great.

The main restaurant area on level 4 feels a bit like an airport lounge and was quiet most of the time we were there. Food there was not really special; Hobart has a lot of good dining on offer so I wouldn't bother eating at the hotel next time.

Valet parking might be a bit tricky because of limited space in front of the hotel but I never had an issue with it during our stay; probably only problematic if arriving at specific times. As mentioned above Concierge are right inside the main entrance and moved the car on quickly when we dropped it off. $25 a night for valet parking is cheap...

There's a top level separate restaurant/bar which do good coughtails (didn't try the food there) but it's a separate 'venue' so you can't charge to the rooms. Staff said that is changing in future.

Staff everywhere in the hotel were very friendly and helpful; I think because it's new they're all eager to do a good job and not bored of their roles yet.

The suites have an open style bathroom with sliding glass doors; overall design is really good the only issue we had was that the lighting switch system is a bit complicated and I had to physically unplug a LED light under the vanity as I couldn't find a way to switch it off (it's considered a 'night light') since it was far too bright.

I didn't realise they now have valet, that makes things much easier! And for the convenience $25 is pretty good (especially my local Westfield charges $15).

I'm staying with my mum so hopefully the room we have will have a more private bathroom!

Looking forward to trying some of the great Hobart restaurants too.
