JASA flight activity posting with ZERO points and SC's

Just checked my account few minutes ago and the points and status credits has been posted. Now comes the long wait for the double SC to be posted, as this trip was booked during the double SC bonus promotion.

Sorry I'll try again. I can't think of a good reason for a software fault to take weeks to fix.
Weeks can be a good turn around sometimes. Only show stoppers will have a higher priority and this is not a show stopper by any stretch of the imagination.

Here is part of the process involved. It is by no means complete but gives you an idea of what needs to happen

  • Log fault/issue/task with help desk
  • Assign task to developer
  • Developer investigates task and if possible to re-create issue then develops and tests a solution
  • Second developer needs to do independant review of the programming changes and then testing
  • Assign task for quality assurance testing
  • If task passes QAT then is scheduled to be implemented to production
There are at least 5 people involved in this reasonably simple task. People go on holidays, there may well be more important tasks/projects and priorities do change.

Note some companies do not have a dedicated support team preferring to work on projects instead.

Also note that not all software glitches are solved. (Hint: Need to be able to reproduce specific glitches to be able to investigate and propose a solution)....

Mine has made it on:

Still need that original routing credit, but the Qantas lady that called me last week said that would be sorted tomorrow and she'd call me back during the day.

Just had mine adjusted from flight on 5 January, was about to contact Qantas, now don't need to. :)

Mrscove and I both got ours thru yesterday so she has raced up from being a nobody to Gold in 6 months of JASA redemptions. I think I will be forgiven sometime in this decade for losing her QF seat selection below Silver status for 3 months recently.

Both mine and mrs ejb's points and sc's posted today from our 26/12 and 29/12 JASA's.

Now lets see if the problem is fixed before NZ in 2 weeks.

flew on a JASA MEL-SYD-ASP on Monday, credited as 0 automatically.

Without contact, a points adjustment was put in today and points and SC's now in the account.

Problem still exists with a JASA posting 0 today, will leave it for a week as it sounds like they have the fix for the missing points etc, just not for the problem itself.

Of course, if something was working and you've broken it, you could just roll back the changes.

Not if you are not sure which of the last 5 changes has caused the glitch in the software. ;) If not the latest change then not very easy to roll back software.

Just as well my changes do not introduce new bugs in the software. Well not that often anyway....

The cynic in me cant help but think it's in QF's interests to not fix the problem. :-|

I wonder how many people it has happened to, people who for matter of sake are not worried about status or points? They are the people QF love!

I would have thought that overall users of JASA's were reasonably tuned in compared to other groups.

I had some for the 28th of Dec and they posted as 0 SC and 0 miles. I waited patiently but when not fixed by this Monday I rang and was told to wait as there was a script being run periodically (not specified) and they had been told not to fix it manually. 5 minutes after I got off the phone I checked my account and the points were there, don't know if coincidence or not.

I had some that posted as zero recently too - they came through a few days later.

What won't cme through automatically is double SC promo if the JASA was credited manually.

I did a jasa yesterday and it posted as zero. As long as the flights post before the 31st I'll be happy.

Same boat here. Flew a return leg on ASA flt on 7th jan, rtn 9th jan, zero points and sc posted. Then normal points and sc posted on 12 Jan. Since then still waiting for the double sc to be credited. Rang FF on 18 jan and was advised that were were some issues with the promo registration. Was assured that they will get back to me. Still waiting

Had a quick trip to Perth on a JASA on the weekend and 0 points and SC's posted. I rang this morning and explained it to the operator that I needed them credited I could hand out partner gold and it took about 10 minutes and it was done.

Normally I wouldn't have rung so soon, but i wanted to give out the PG status pretty quickly
