Also on 27 December 2018, JQ824 (2040 hours mid evening SYD - BNE, A320 VH-VQG took off at 2256 hours, just before curfew. Suggested arrival is 2315 hours, 125 minutes behind time.

Friday 28 December 2018 finds JQ411 (1220 hours OOL down to SYD, airborne at 1325 with A320 VH-VQJ) likely to arrive 40 late at 1530 mid afternoon.

B788 VH-VKG on JQ43, the 1005 hours MEL up to DPS was in the sky at 1220. Expected arrival is 117 late at 1452. This will result in JQ44 being significantly delayed.

Friday 28 December's JQ30 arrival in MEL at a scheduled 1030 hours (ex BKK) has been delayed overnight to 0500 hours on Saturday 29. This is because the Thursday 28 December mid afternoon 1435 hours MEL - BKK, JQ29 instead pushed back at 0912 this morning, Friday 29 for a suggested BKK arrival at 1408 on Friday instead of 1950 hours on Thursday.

JQ220, the evening 2215 hours arrival in MEL (ex ZQN) has been cancelled.

JQ35, the Friday 1855 hours MEL to DPS is predicted to push back at 2250, 245 minute slate. On Saturday 29, the DPS - MEL JQ36 should arrive at 1130 hours rather than 0750.

JQ201 (0955 hours SYD across to AKL. A320 VH-VFL) is worse, taking off at 1205, almost two hours late. Arrival should be at 1654, 109 late.

JQ531 (1600 hours afternoon SYD - MEL) has been cancelled while JQ665 from AYQ to MEL should arrive at 1550, 40 minutes late with A320 VH-VGD.

JQ506 MEL-SYD 9 25 hours service (A320 VH-VGO) departed at 11 05, it is expected to arrive at 12 13, 83 tardy.

Due to a storm cell passing over SYD at about 1800 hours on New Year's Eve, JQ819 (A320 VH-VFV) has had a very unusual approach to Sydney, but arrival should be at about 1813, 33 minutes tardy.

A321 VH-VWN has had to double back on itself operating the 1615 hours MEL - SYD (JQ516) that was airborne at 1644, with arrival expected at 1819 hours, 39 late.

JQ521, the 1725 hours SYD down to MEL had yet to take off as at 1824 so arrival for A321 VH-VWU will be at least 35 minutes late.

UPDATE: JQ521 was airborne at 1823 so expected arrival is 1947, 47 late.

Continuing with a stormy Monday 31 December 2018 early evening in Sydney, JQ722 (A320 VH-VFL, the 1625 hours HBA up to SYD that took off at 1700, about 20 late) was at 1844 still in a holding pattern above Towrang, NSW so arrival will be after 1905, so more than 55 late.

JQ725 in the opposite direction is the 1745 ex SYD airborne at 1835. VH-VFK should arrive in HBA at about 2014, 34 minutes tardy.

The 1730 hours MEL up to BNE JQ566 (A320 VH-VFF) was in the sky at 1835 so anticipated arrival is 1938 hours tonight, 53 late.

JQ787 holds the unfortunate title of the most severe delay domestically spotted on Monday 31 December 2018 with A320 VH-VQJ on this scheduled 1255hours MCY down to SYD taking off at 1655. Arrival in a stormy Sydney should be at about 1930, 240 minutes behind schedule.

A321 VH-VWQ on JQ413 (1605 hours OOL - SYD airborne at 1725) looks to be arriving at 1947 hours, 72 late.

JQ818 (1815 hours SYD up to BNE that took off at 2009 with A320 VH-VFV) should arrive at about 2030 tonight, 105 minutes late.

Continuing with 31 December, although SYD (airport) has only had 5mm of rain this evening thus far, airlines have still been disrupted as the storms did a fair job of almost enveloping Sydney at various times.

It's no surprise that SYD to PER evening flights are delayed with JQ988 (2005 hours departure) not airborne until 2127. Arrival is suggested as 2259, 49 late for A320 VH-VGR.

The 2030 hours SYD - DRW (JQ672, VH-VFU) was airborne at 2159 on 31 December with arrival suggested as 0039, 69 late on 1 January.

JQ958 has VH-VGU and is the 2110 hours SYD up to CNS that was in the sky at 2212, so arrival looks to be 2355 hours Queensland time, 40 late.

JQ525 (A321 VH-VWZ), the 2100 hours SYD - MEL took off at 2234 with arrival suggested as 2350, 75 late and so just missing out on the 'club' of passenger transport aircraft, vehicles or rollingstock that are in use through midnight tonight.

JQ504 and JQ506, respectively the 0810 and 0925 hours MEL up to SYD on New Year's Day 2019 are expected to depart between 40 minutes and an hour late.

One reason is that JQ503 from SYD to MEL is arriving at 0931 hours, 56 late with A320 VH-VFU.

JQ730 (0855 hours MEL arrival from LST) has been cancelled, as has JQ563 (0855 hours BNE down to MEL). JQ706, the 1200 'high noon' HBA - MEL is another flight to have received the boot.

JQ771, the 1230 hours lunchtime ADL across to MEL is also cancelled.

Some if not all of these may be due to yesterday afternoon's and last night's storms in Sydney that mean cabin and flight crew may be out of position.

JQ745, the 0720 hours SYD down to LST has A320 VH-VGR and was airborne at 0828 with arrival likely at 0953 hours, 48 late.

JQ706 HBA-MEL 12 00 hours service was cancelled.
JQ973 PER-MEL 8 15 hours service also joins the cancellations list.

(VH-VWN) has been behind all day. Fristly as JQ810 SYD-BNE which arrived at 7 48, 73 tardy. This impacted the following flight, JQ813 BNE-SYD 7 20 hours service, which arrived to gate at 11 45, 110 behind scheduled time. This has formed as JQ721 SYD-HBA which was airborne at 12 48, with revised arrival at 14 24, 109 tardy.

JQ763 ADL-SYD arrived at 12 27, 57 behind schedule (VH-VQJ).

Adding to Silvia's list, on Tuesday 2 January 2019, JQ531 from SYD down to MEL is predicted to arrive at 1920, 105 minutes late. This may be A321 VH-VWN's next flight after JQ720 from HBA up tp SYD, as it arrived at the latter at 1651 hours, 111 minutes late.

JQ572 (1600 hours MEL up to BNE) is forecast to depart an hour late. The 1815 hours MEL - SYD, JQ530 should be worse as its pushing back has been amended to 1950 tonight. Southbound, JQ519 ex SYD should arrive in MEL tonight at 2030 hours, 45 late.

JQ8992 is presumably a 'ferry flight' (lacking passengers) with B788 VH-VKD airborne from CNS at 1321 this afternoon for arrival in MEL at about 1720 hours. One wonders if it is forming the Denpasar departure.

Wednesday 2 January 2019 finds JQ500, the early morning 0620 hours MEL - SYD not airborne until 0722. A321 VH-VWY should arrive at 0834 hours, 49 late.

JQ507 (0825 hours SYD down to MEL) is predicted to depart 50 minutes behind schedule.

JQ420 (2 January 2019, the 1505 hours SYD - OOL - A320 VH-VGD - in the sky at 1602 hours) should arrive at 1606, 41 late.

JQ912, the Thursday 3 January 2019 SYD - TSV timetabled to depart at 1110 hours (A320 VH-VQM) was in the sky at 1207. Consequently, arrival should be at 1328 hours, 38 late.

The 1325 hours MEL - BNE, JQ574 is predicted to depart 70 late.

JQ515, the southbound 1330 hours SYD - MEL is a predicted half an hour tardy.

JQ43, the 1005 hours MEL - DPS (Friday 4 January 2019) has been delayed until an expected 1500 hours in its pushback. This will delay tonight's JQ36.

The 1005 hours MEL down to HBA, JQ705 pushed back 44 late.

JQ942 (1125 hours MEL - CNS) is predicted to depart 45 minutes behind schedule.

Continuing with Friday 4 January 2019, JQ816 (A320 VH-VGD, the 1100 hours SYD up to BNE) took off at 1321 so the expected 1335 hours on ramp arrival will be 125 minutes behind schedule.

The 1025 hours southbound MCY down to SYD, JQ785 with VH-VGQ is little better, as it was in the sky at 1157 hours. Arrival should be at 1415, 75 minutes late.

JQ432 is also badly late, with this 1000 midmorning schedule MEL up to OOL not in the sky until 1219 hours. Arrival should be at 1303 hours, 118 late.

JQ511 (1235 hours lunchtime SYD down to MEL) was airborne at 1410 so arrival for A321 VH-VWT is predicted as 1524, 74 late.

The 0815 hours morning PER across to MEL,JQ973, pointed skywards at 0934 with VH-VWN. Predicted arrival is 1526 hours, 36 down. This is due to it being 80 minutes late arriving in PER this morning on the 0615 hours ex MEL, JQ972 that did not become airborne until 0741.

JQ631, the 1140 hours OOL down to AVV has A320 VH-VGI and took off at 1202 for a suggested arrival of 1527 hours, 32 late.

In more on Friday 4 January 2019, JQ437 (A320 VH-VGT, the 1145 hours OOL down to MEL that took off at 1354) is arriving in gusty conditions after a southerly change with 'at gate' equivalent time to have been 1659, 114 minutes late. However the aircraft had a missed approach on runway 16 (a VA from ADL had an earlier one on runway 27) so arrival of the JQ flight is further delayed. Winds have been gusting to 52kmh.

B788 VH-VKI, the 1445 hours MEL - SYD - DPS JQ37 took off at 1659 so will be about two hours late into Sydney.

The 1555 hours MEL up to OOL, also VH-VWN as noted in the previous post, took off at 1702 so will arrive at 1800 hours, an hour behind schedule.

JQ516 (1615 hours MEL north to SYD, A321 VH-VWW was stuck behind at least three other aircraft in the take off queue as at 1708, so it will be 45 minutes or more delayed arriving.

A321 VH-VWY on JQ940, the mid afternoon 1530 MEL - CNS was at 1727 awaiting takeoff clearance so its is at least 85 late.
