Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

JQ473, the 0610 hours NTL - MEL has had a forgettable start to Tuesday 18 December 2018 with takeoff at 1003 for A320 VH-VGO. Arrival is predicted at 1134 hours, 224 minutes tardy. Was there low cloud at NTL or did the aircraft have mechanical/electrical or crewing problems?

JQ506 (A320 VH-VGD) took off at 1035 hours so SYD arrival for A320 VH-VGD has become an estimated 1148, 58 late.
 
Later on 18 December 2018, JQ606 (AVV up to SYD, the 1545 hours, took off 61 minutes later. Arrival is expected at 1759, 49 late. A320 VH-VFI is the aircraft.
 
JQ447 (18 December 2018, the timetabled 1740 hours late afternoon OOL down to MEl airborne at 1949 with A320 VH-VGF) should arrive at 2259 hours, 114 minutes late.

The CNS to DPS 1850 hours (A320 VH-VGQ) was airborne at 2002 tonight so arrival at the predicted 2225 will be an hour late.

In further on Thursday 20 December 2018, JQ507 (0825 hours SYD down to MEL, A321 VH-VWY) was still taxiiing in SYD at 0909 so arrival should be at 1033 hours, 33 late. This will then delay JQ510, the 1050 hours MEL up to SYD that is predicted to depart 25 minutes late.

Earlier, it operated JQ500, the first morning scheduled MEL - SYD of the morning that arrived at 0808 hours, 23 minutes late.

JQ509 (1045 hours SYD down to MEL) has been given the boot as has JQ743, the evening 1910 hours MEL down to LST.

Due to the ferocious thunderstorms around Sydney, the 20 December 2018 JQ841 (A320 VH-VGY, the 1315 hours PPP down to SYD that was airborne at 1338) was held above the Central Coast for a while. Arrival should be at 1718 hours, 43 late.

JQ720 is a little different as this HBA - SYD flight timetabled to depart at 1315 with A320 VH-VGR did not take off until 1551. However as at 1756 it had still not touched down in SYD so its arrival will be post-1800 hours, more than three hours late.

UPDATE: JQ720 may be diverting to NTL as this airport (unlike SYD) seems to be presently (as at 1800 hours) to be out of the storm.

The AVV - SYD JQ606 has A320 VH-VGD and is arriving at 1830 hours, 80 minutes late.

JQ439 (A320 VH-XJE, the 1455 hours OOL down to MEL) took off at 1526 so arrival should be at 1853 hours, 38 minutes late.

JQ531 (1600 hours SYD down to MEL, A320 VH-VQZ) took off at 1822 with suggested arrival 1941 hours, 126 late on Thursday 20 December 2018.

JQ661 from AYQ to SYD (A320 VH-JQL) was due in the latter at 1730 but is diverting to either OOL or BNE given the weather in SYD. Arrival at one of these southeast Queensland airports should be at about 1930 Queensland time. This flight will be pushing it to reach SYD by 2300 hours tonight.

The 1745 hours JQ37 from SYD to DPS was airborne at 2037 with B788 VH-VKK, so should be at least 140 minutes late arriving at the major Balinese airport.

In further on what has been an extremely stormy late afternoon and early evening in Sydney, JQ608, the 1730 hours AVV up to SYD took off at 1956 with A320 VH-VQM. Arrival should be at 2157, 182 minutes tardy.

The 1635 hours CNS down to SYD, JQ959 is better with takeoff at 1807 and arrival at 2202, 152 late for VH-VGQ.

JQ720 did not take off from NTL until 2118 and is arriving in SYD at 2206, 426 minutes late, as upon departing NTL it had to take a roundabout flight path, losing further time.
 
On Friday 21 December 2018, just to start the morning off nicely, JQ729, the 0610 hours MEL - LST has been cancelled. So has JQ794, the 0940 hours midmorning MEL - MCY.

JQ402 (0705 hours SYD - OOL) joins the cancellations club as does JQ816, 1100 hours from SYD up to BNE.

JQ525 on Thursday 20 December 2018 took off from SYD at 2331 hours. This is the 2100 hours SYD - MEL. It must have a dispensation. A321 VH-VWZ is the aircraft.

The 2240 hours JQ712 from HBA up to MEL has VH-VGU and should arrive at 0050 hours on Friday 21, 51 late.

On Friday 21 December, JQ810, the early morning 0605 hours SYD - BNE departed 63 minutes late with arrival suggested as 0735, an hour behind schedule.

JQ762 (0700 hours SYD - ADL) was another cancellation to join those of Friday notified a couple of posts above.

The 0720 hours SYD - LST, JQ745 has been delayed in its departure to beyond 0805 hours. JQ456, the northbound 0725 hours SYD up to BNK was supposed to depart at 0800 but is delayed beyond that.

JQ721 (1040 hours SYD down to HBA) should push back 35 minutes late. JQ912, the 1110 hours SYD - TSV is similar with an expected half hour delay. JQ786, the 1150 hours SYD - MCY should depart at 1225.

Continuing with 21 December, JQ700 (A320 VH-VGP, the 0755 hours HBA up to MEL) took off at 07846 so arrival is forecast as 0958 hours, 38 late.
 
Later on Friday 21 December, JQ564 (A320 VH-VQH, the 1430 hours MEL up to BNE airborne at 1522) looks to be arriving at 1621, 36 late.

JQ787 took off from MCY at 1417 as the 1255 hours to SYD. A320 VH-VQL should arrive at 1633, 63 late.

The NTL down to MEL JQ477 is another delayed flight with this 1420 hours departure taking off at 1521. A320 VH-VFU should arrive at 1653, 53 late.

Also on Friday 21 December, JQ741 (1640 hours MEL - LST) took off at 1803. VH-VFU should arrive at about 1857, 72 minutes tardy.
 
Continuing with 21 December 2018, the 1855 hours MEL - SYD JQ520 (A321 VH-VWN) took off at 2106, so arrival will be 2221 hours, 121 late.

The NTL down to MEL JQ479 (A320 VH-XJE, the 1830 hours) was airborne at 1936 with claimed arrival at about 2122 mid this evening, 72 minutes tardy.

JQ523 is similar, with this 1845 hours SYD down to MEL airborne at 2000 hours, so VH-VGY should be at its allocated ramp spot at 2130 tonight, 70 minutes behind the timetable.

More on 21 December sees JQ518 (2035 hours MEL north to SYD) having takenj off at 2158 with A320 VH-JQL. It is flying lower and faster than usual. FR24 estimates it will touch down at 2301 post-curfew and hence be at the ramp at 2306. Aircraft is A320 VH-JQL.

JQ570 (A320 VH-VQH, the 2045 hours MEL - BNE took off at 2214 so arrival is estimated at 2312, 72 late.

The OOL - ME:L JQ447 is unsurprisingly delayed as per Silvia's account of adverse weather in southeast Queensland, so A320 VH-VGP should arrive at 2234 hours, 89 late.

JQ413 from OOL to SYD, the 1615 hours in the sky at 2011 with VH-VQZ arrived at 2223 hours instead of 1845.

The last JQ flight of the night BNE-SYD at 7:40pm was cancelled when I arrived at airport ~5:00pm. Was this a late cancellation due to weather or planned in advance? I'd be interested in knowing if passengers have been re-accommodated on other flights.

Interestingly QF559 was also cancelled but quite late. I am guessing Qantas has re-accommodated on other flights m.
