Later on 23 January, JQ510 (1050 hours MEL - SYD airborne at 1208) is likely to arrive at 1313, 58 late. Plane is A321 VH-VWW.

The 1210 hours MEL - NTL (JQ474, VH-JQG) was in the sky at 1253 with predicted arrival at 1411, 31 late.

UPDATE: VH-VWW was subsequently on JQ513, the 1300 hours SYD - MEL airborne 92 minutes later. Estimated arrival is 70 late at 1545. Note how it has lost further time since the northbound flight.

The 0625 hours early morning Friday 25 January JQ472, scheduled as 0625 hours MEL up to NTL, was airborne at 0710 so anticipated arrival is 0827, 32 late.

Winds were gusting at 0912 hours at MEL to 72kmh on Friday morning, 25 January 2019. Looks like MEL is on single runway ops with the east-west shorter runway 09/27 not in use. This will mean some delays, even though (say) 1100 is not as busy as 0900.

JQ832 (0915 hours MEL - PPP, A320 VH-VQE) did not become airborne until 1015 hours, about 45 late.

At 1015, JQ506 (0925 hours MEL - SYD) was two behind in the more southerly queue for takeoff on runway 34, so it will be more than half an hour late arriving.

The NTL - MEL JQ475 has A320 VH-VQC and is arriving at 1048, 38 late.

In more on Friday 25 January with its MEL single runway ops delaying flights, the SYD-bound JQ508 (220 seat A321 VH-VWT) took off at 1128. Expected arrival is 1239 hours, 44 late.

JQ464 (1110 hours MEL up to BNK, VH-VQC) had yet to take off by 1225, so will be about an hour late arriving.

Continuing with Friday 25 January, JQ744 (1535 hours LST - MEL in the air at 1613, A320 VH-VQR) is arriving at 1727, 47 late.

JQ948 with VH-VQE, the 1640 hours MEL - CNS was still in the middle stage of taxiing as at 1727, so is likely to be at least half an hour tardy. JQ741, an identically timed departure to LST was also still moving up a taxiway as at 1728 with VH-JQG.

Flagship JQ1 (1635 hours MEL up to HNL, B788 VH-VKE) was in the sky at 1810. Arrival is predicted for 0722 same day, 82 late, delaying the return JQ2.

JQ424 (A321 VH-VWX, the scheduled 1840 hours SYD to party capital OOL took off at 1931, so arrival at 1936, 36 late is likely.

JQ567, the early evening 1925 hours BNE - MEL (A320 VH-VQR) did not take off until 2232 on Friday 25 January, so delayed arrival on Saturday 26 is 0126 hours, 156 late. The aircraft had been 44 minutes late arriving in BNE on JQ566 ex MEL, so something has gone wrong up there.

JQ30 was cancelled on 24/01 evening, and the following evening's replacement flight was also cancelled making it 48 hours + for passengers who are waiting for their 3rd replacement service JQ7030D. Right now it seems that this flight has been further delayed by 30 mins and is likely to be cancelled again if the comments on their facebook page are anything to go by.

Meanwhile today's scheduled JQ30 is also delayed, 3 and a bit hours, so it is not a great time to be flying Jetstar from BKK to MEL it seems.

Edit: The replacement replacement service JQ7030 has taken off 47 minutes late, but I suspect that would not worry the passengers much. It will be interesting to see if JQ30, having been delayed 3 hours and 10 minutes, is able to operate tonight.

33kft, many thanks! If anyone strikes a paywall, it's also on 'Canberra Times' website (no paywall).

Aircraft B788 VH-VKK operated JQ29 on Thursday 24 January, arriving BKK at 1914 hours, 36 minutes early.

It returned to MEL as JQ7030D and landed at 0546 on Sunday 27 January.

To further add to what 33kft wrote above, today's JQ29, the scheduled 1435 hours 26 January 2019 ex MEL took off at 1858 with arrival estimated as 2344 hours, 294 late. This is B788 VH-VKE.

Repeated cancellations would be extremely stressful for any elderly (probably not many on JQ flights given it seems to be full of young people) and anyone travelling with children or heaven forbid, babes.

Sunday's JQ35 (1855 hours MEL up to DPS) is to be delayed until 2040 hours.

The afternoon DPS down to MEL, JQ44, has B788 VH-VKH and should arrive at 2336, 36 late.

Mich holding occurring into SYD during Sunday 27 January evening as JQ520, the 1855 hours MEL - SYD (A321 VH-VWT) airborne at 1936 arrives at a predicted 2115 hours, 55 minutes tardy. There are severe storms around SYD that had only been rated as a 'chance' by the BOM.

JQ143 (1940 hours SYD - CHC, A320 VH-VFF) took off at 2100 so predicted arrival is Monday 28 at 0145, 65 late.

Friday 1st of Feb sees the red-eye JQ18 HKT-MEL depart at 7 03, this suggests arrival at 19 12, an awful 532 min behind schedule (B787 VH-VKA).

JQ43 MEL-DPS was cancelled.
JQ37 MEL-SYD, the friday operated 787 service is also cancelled.

Does anyone have an inkling as to why so many JQ flights (to/from DPS particularly) are being cancelled due to “engineering requirements?”
I have a friend who was due to fly today (1st Feb) but has been rebooked to the 5th of February. Having a scroll through the JQ Facebook page and various Bali FB groups reveals a wave of “engineering issues?”

On Saturday 2 February, JQ67 (1350 hours MEL to little known CGO) took off at an extremely late 2349 hours. B788 VH-VKK should arrive on Sunday 3 at 0707, 577 minutes late. This aircraft had arrived MEL on 2 February at 1023, only three minutes late on JQ18 ex HKT so not sure why it was delayed so much.

JQ64 from SGN to MEL that ought normally arrive mid afternoon at 1435 on Saturday is expected at 0340 tomorrow (Sunday 3).

JQ17, the mid afternoon Sunday 31520 hours MEL to HKT has been rescheduled to a redeye 2345 hours departure, but even that did not occur as predicted.

On Saturday 2 February 2019, JQ3, the 1755 hours SYD - HNL (B788 VH-VKB) did not take off until 2039 hours, arriving at 0856, 141 minutes late. It turned around as JQ4 with takeoff at 1055 instead of the 0825 hours scheduled pushback, so on Sunday 3 it should arrive in SYD at 1733 rather than 1545 hours, 108 minutes behind schedule.

The DPS - MEL JQ44 arrived on Sunday 3 February at 0844 hours with VH-VKE, 584 minutes late.

12 of the last 13 flight sectors operated by B788 VH-VKH have been between an hour and about three hours late. On Sunday 3, it arrived CNS (ex NRT) at 0537 hours, 57 late as JQ26.

JQ38 (VH-VKJ) from DPS to SYD arrived at 0803, 43 late on Sunday. This aircraft is supposed to operate JQ11 from SYD to OOL and on to NRT, but if so will be delayed as departure of the first JQ11 sector is scheduled as 0850 hours.
