Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

JQ793 (0945 hours MCY - MEL, A320 VH-VFN) took off at 1120 hours so arrival is likely on Wednesday 4 September at 1340 this afternoon, 85 late.

The 1245 hours MEL - HBA, JQ709, has got the flick.

JQ796 (1430 hours MEL - MCY) is predicted to push back at 1510, but the gate numbers don't suggest this is directly connected with the delayed inbound from MCY.

The 1745 hoiurs MEL - DPS, JQ35 is predicted to depart at 1935 tonight. While JQ schedules two daily flights MEL - DPS and return, often they run late or one is cancelled. Today's delay is due to JQ2 from HNL, the timetabled 1455 hours mid afternoon arrival not coming in until a predicted 1805 hours. Unreliable, as is the case with JQi generally out of MEL on its non-Tasman routes.

The delayed JQ35 on 4 September (B788, as usual, and in tonight's case VH-VKH) did not become airborne until 2013 hours so DPS arrival should be 2352 late tonight local times, 127 minutes behind the schedule.

JQ603, the Thursday 5 September 0700 hours SYD - AVV took off at 0751 with A320 VH-VFX. Arrival should be at 0910 hours, 35 minutes tardy.

Later on Thursday 5 September 2019, JQ474 (1210 hours MEL - NTL) took off at 1318 with arrival for A320 VH-VFH suggested as 1431, 51 minutes tardy.

Southbound A320 VH-VGM is on JQ607, the mid afternoon 1535 hours SYD - AVV airborne at 1627. Arrival at this Geelong airfield should be at around 1748, 38 late.

Continuing with Thursday 5 September 2019, JQ521 passengers are anything but on time as this 1600 hours scheduled southbound was not in the sky until 1842. Many planes are having to hold in the Mt Buller area so arrival for A321 VH-VWW may be beyond the 1959 (144 minutes late) that is presently predicted.

Friday 6 September sees JQ784 (A320 VH-VGI, the 0930 hours SYD north to MCY) taking off at 1024 so arrival will be at least 40 late.

JQ518 on 6 September, the 1605 hours MEL - SYD has been cancelled (as have its QF stablemates at 1600 and 1630 hours ex MEL.)

The 1630 hours northbound, JQ520 is predicted to push back half an hour behind schedule.

..The 1630 hours northbound, JQ520 is predicted to push back half an hour behind schedule.

A320 VH-VQH on this flight was airborne at 1742 hours so estimated SYD arrival is 1855, an hour late. Note how what the airport suggested was a half hour pushback delay ends up being twice that much for the whole journey.

JQ524 (Saturday 7 September, the 0855 hours MEL - SYD in the sky at 0954 with A321 VH-VWW) should arrive at 1103, 43 late.

The 0730 hours CNS - SYD (JQ953, A320 VH-VQF) was airborne at 0938 so arrival has become an estimated 1123 hours, 58 behind.

JQ409 (1010 hours OOL - SYD) took off at 1111 with A320 VH-VFX, so arrival is 1242, 62 late.

The 0915 hours MEL - SYD, JQ506, has A320 VH-VQA, being airborne t a1104. Arrival should be 1228 hours, 108 late.

With winds husting to 56kmh (westerlies) and SYD down to single runway operations, causing extensive delays even on a Saturday with its lower domestic flight numbers, JQ746 (0940 hours LST - SYD airborne at 1107 with A320 VH-VQJ) is arriving at 1246 hours, 91 minutes behind schedule.

Jetstar have cancelled around 50 flights so far today in and out of SYD. RROPS will take up to 55 hours to have all PAX sorted out.

On Sunday 8 September, JQ38 (DPS - SYD) has B788 VH-VKA and is arriving at 0850 hours, 155 minutes tardy.

Later on 8 September, JQ435 (A321 VH-VWU, the 0840 hours OOL - MEL airborne at 0930) is arriving at 1152 hours, 47 late.

On a blustery Monday 9 September in SYD, and at times MEL, JQ605 (A320 VH-XSJ, the 0755 hours SYD - AVV) was airborne at 0902 so arrival is expected at 1021 hours, 51 late.

JQ433 (A320 VH-VQR, the 0730 hours OOL - MEL airborne at 0818) should arrive at 1028 hours, 33 late.

Probably reflecting an earlier cancelled passenger flight - due to winds in SYD - JQ7610 (A320 VH-VQH) took off from AVV at 1054 with predicted arrival in SYD at 1212 hours.

JQ811 (VH-VFD) is the 0820 hours BNE down to SYD airborne at 1046, arriving at 1214, 139 minutes late.

The 0915 hours BNK down to SYD, JQ457, took off at 1108 so arrival for A320 VH-VGF should be 100 minutes behind schedule at 1220 hours.

JQ746 (0940 morning LST up to SYD that was in teh sky at 1102 with VH-VGY) looks to be 72 late in arriving at an estimated 1227 hours.

The 1005 hours MEL - SYD, JQ508 (A321 VH-VWY) took off at 1127 with arrival at 1235 hours, 65 late.

Later on 9 September, JQ515 (A320 VH-VFI, the 1400 hours SYD - MEL in the sky at 1539) looks to be arriving at 1658, 83 late.

One missed earlier was JQ43 (the morning 0915 hours MEL - DPS) that took off at 1239 hours. B788 VH-VKK should arrive 185 late at 1620 hours.

Another morning occurrence was that JQ458, the 1000 hours SYD - BNK departed 202 minutes late at 1322 this afternoon, but had to divert to NTL where the stop was from 1410 to 1522 with eventual BNK arrival at 1618 hours, 303 minutes late.

JQ606 (1545 hours AVV up to SYD airborne at 1653 with A320 VH-XSJ) should arrive 55 late at 1805 hours. Looking back a few posts, in total it has 'lost' a further five minutes since mid morning, showing how difficult it can be to pick up time when weather conditions are poor.

AFF member dajop (frequent traveller to SIN that he is) may be "delighted" to know that JQ7 on Wednesday 11, the 1110 hours MEL - SIN is expected to depart at 1830 hours.

On Tuesday 10 September, the 1545 hours MEL - HNL flagship (JQ1) departed at 1841 hours, taking off at 1918 tonight. Expected same day arrival is 0940 hours, 205 minutes late.

The 1450 hours afternoon MEL - HKT, JQ17, is expected to depart at 2155 this evening, 425 minutes late, arriving in the Thai resort paradise ar about 0345 hours on Wednesday instead of 2045 on Tuesday mid evening, 425 late.

JQ35, the 1745 hours MEL - DPS was airborne at 1945 this evening.

A shocker of a day despite benign weather, but far from a first for JQi in MEL> While I jest, its online bookings ought carry a warning about its terrible lack of punctuality.

While yet to show publicly, there's a good chance JQ35 MEL - DPS (the 1745 hours on Wednesday) will also be delayed.

JQ731 (Wednesday 11 September, the scheduled 0720 hours ADL across to SYD with A320 VH-JQX) took off at 0810, about 35 minutes late, so expected arrival has become 1020 hours, 40 behind time.

JQ18 ex HKT is badly delayed as JQ17 yesterday was hours late. JQ18 should arrive MEL at about 1624 this afternoon, 395 minutes late. Aircraft is B788 VH-VKK.

VH-VKF on the also badly delayed JQ1 (MEL - HNL) arrived at 0918 hours on Wednesday 11, 183 minutes late. It appears to have not departed HNL with arrival showing in MEL as 0500 hours tomorrow (Thursday 12) that if correct would be 845 minutes late, as scheduled arrival is 1455 this afternoon.

Not only is JQ11 (MEL - SIN) today a suggested 440 late in its departure (tonight at 1830) as noted above, but as I guessed yesterday, today's JQ1 will also be tardy with pushback predicted at 2130 hours mid evening rather than the usual 1745, so 225 minutes late.
