Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Excellent update jsd. Interesting that JQ7 passengers connect to Air France.

On Tuesday 5 July, the 0700 from SYD down to MEL, JQ503, has been altered to depart at 0732. Arrival is suggested as 0922 instead of 0835, 47 minutes late and a slow trip, probably because around 0900 is often a very busy time in MEL.

Thanks Melburnian1. As of 1440 we have boarded but are still sitting on the Tarmac awaiting departure. All whY passengers were provided with refreshment vouchers and Qantas provided fantastic service to Members and J guests welcoming them back into the lounge.

There are a number of guests with onward connections that are severely at risk due to the delay. A number are continuing on 3K to HKG? and HKT and a a handful of guests on inter line connections to AF (including the lady sitting next to me).

UPDATE: Doors closed, bridge away at 14:53

Hi jsd, thanks for your post. do you know the value of the refreshment voucher?

Hi jsd, thanks for your post. do you know the value of the refreshment voucher?

Didn't personally receive one as we retreated back to the lounge. But they appeared to be AUD $10 vouchers

It wouldn't be to HKG as the latest 3K flight is at 1545.

Just out of interest - were all business pax sent to the lounge or only those QF club members and on max fares?

I'm really not sure. Jetstar staff actually told us that we needed to stay in the gate area. The people who knew that they were entitled access obviously didn't agree with that :p

There was about 10 Jetstar and Changi airport staff waiting at the gate with various signs for different 3K flights. HKG didn't look to be in that list. 3K537 (our flight) was delayed by 1 hour until 21:30 to allow the 60+ JQ7 passengers to connect.

A wet, fairly busy evening for arrivals in MEL has seen quite a few aircraft doing laps with JQ523, the 1830 hours SYD - MEL (A321 VH-VWY) that took off at 1859 no exception. It should arrive at about 2042 hours, 37 minutes late.

JQ949 (1845 hours CNS down to MEL, A321 VH-VWW) was airborne at 1950 and hence is arriving at roughly 2301, 51 minutes late.

JQ611, the late evening SYD - AVV is about 35 minutes late, with arrival at around midnight.

On Wednesday 6 July, JQ439, the 1440 mid afternoon from OOL to MEL took off at 1534 so A321 VH-VWU is arriving at 1805, an hour late after a relatively brief holding pattern.

JQ779 (1505 hours ADL - MEL) took off at 1614 with arrival of A320 VH-VGI likely at 1810, 70 minutes late.

The 1830 hours departure from NTL, JQ479, took off at 1921 and is in a holding pattern above Mt Buller (Vic.) as at 2027 hours, but should arrive in MEL at about 2053, 43 minutes late with A320 VH-VGD.

Thursday 7 July sees JQ943, the 1425 CNS down to MEL not having been airborne until 1635 with arrival of A320 VH-VGO expected at about 1946, 56 minutes late.

The 1630 hours MEL - NTL (JQ476) did not take off until 1837 so arrival is not until 1950, 110 minutes late. A320 VH-VQZ is the aircraft.

On Friday 8 July, the early morning JQ603 (0700 hours SYD down to AVV) did not depart until 0846 with arrival expected to be at 1021 rather than 0835. A significant delay like this early in the morning may result in the next four or five, or more, trips operated by this aircraft being badly late unless JQ cancels a return flight.

JQ605, the following scheduled 0755 hours SYD - AVV did not depart until 0833 with arrival likely 28 minutes late at 0958.

JQ456, the 0725 hours from SYD up to BNK did not push back until 0838 with estimated arrival at 0953 rather than 0840 hours.

Continuing JQ's poor timekeeping on Australia's busiest air passenger route, JQ507, the 0825 hours SYD - MEL is instead expected to push back at 0858.

The 0955 hours SYD to AKL (JQ201) should instead depart at 1025.

JQ408 should depart SYD for OOL an hour late at 1205. The 1110 hours SYD down to HBA, JQ721, has been cancelled.

The 1210 SYD - MEL JQ511 is instead expected to depart at 1255 this afternoon.

JQ766 from SYD across to ADL does not have a good timekeeping record despite it being an off peak flight. Today (8 July) continues the pattern with departure predicted at 1335 instead of 1245.

Also on Friday 8 July, JQ518 (1615 MEL up to SYD) took off at 1742 so it should arrive at around 1915, 95 minutes late. Aircraft is A321 VH-VWT.

On Saturday 9 July, the 1035 SYD - CNS, JQ954 is expected to push back at 1115.

JQ509 (1045 hours SYD - MEL) should instead depart at 1140.

Does anyone know what happened to last nights JQ713/714 rotation MEL-HBA-MEL? The A321 operating turned around in the middle of Tassie and flew back to Melbourne. There was an extra service JQ7713/7714 operated today into HBA in at 12:30 and out at 13:00 operated by VH-VFU.

I'm assuming it was fog due to the observations on the BOM website but interested to know if this was the reason?

Thanks

On Saturday 9 July JQ513 (1245 hours SYD - MEL) took off at 1336 with arrival of A321 Vh-VWU predicted at 1503, 43 minutes late.

Sunday 10 July sees JQ525, the 2010 evening SYD - MEL having taken off at 2114 with arrival at about 2238, 53 minutes behind the timetable.

Anyone experienced lost luggage? Partner was on flight JQ7 departing 10:15 this morning delayed till 11:15am then from Singapore to Danang. Luggage was nowhere to be seen when landing in Danang. Would it be best to contact Jetstar and Changi Airport in this circumstance?

The Sunday 10 July 2235 hours DPS - SYD, JQ38, did not take off until 0205 on Monday 11 July. Arrival should be at around 0846, 146 minutes behind schedule with aircraft B788 VH-VKI.

JQ705, the 0830 from MEL down to HBA on 11 July did not take off until 0918. VH-VFT, an A320, will therefore be about half an hour late arriving in the Tasmanian capital.

VH-VQC, another A320 on the 1025 HBA - MEL JQ707 was in the sky at 1132 with expected arrival at 1232, 52 minutes late.

JQ540 (1040 hours MEL - SYD) took off at 1143 with arrival expected at 1302, 57 minutes behind time: aircraft is A321 VH-VWW.

The 0955 hours from ADL across to SYD, JQ765 (A320 VH-VGI) is a suggested 34 minutes late should arrival turn out to be 1249 hours.

JQ7 (1115 hours MEL - SIN) took off at 1152; it should be there at 1727, also 37 minutes late.

JQ438, the 1405 Tuesday 12 July MEL - OOL(A320 VH-VGQ) took off at 1516 on a windy and cold winter day with arrival suggested as 68 minutes late at 1713.

Northbound on the busy MEL - SYD route, JQ514 (A321 VH-VWU), the 1520 hours departure was in the sky at 1625 so arrival should be at 1733, 48 minutes late.
